BREAKING NEWS: Disney World To Close On March 15th for 2 Weeks Due To Coronavirus
Earlier today, we here at MickeyBlog announced that Disneyland had made the decision to close the theme parks for the duration of March. It now looks as if Walt Disney World is following suit!
The information is coming in thick and fast. However, as we sift through it all, we wanted to reach out to our readers and let you know according to a recent Orlando Sentinel article, Disney World will be closing its gates beginning on Sunday, March 15th for a two week period.
The shutdown affects the following theme parks:
- Magic Kingdom
- Epcot
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom
“In an abundance of caution and in the best interest of our guests and employees, we are proceeding with the closure of our theme parks,” a statement released just after 8 p.m. Thursday said.

This closure is slated to be the longest in the Walt Disney World history. Previous closures include during Hurricane Floyd (1999) and for Charley, Frances and Jeanne in (2004.) Walt Disney World closed again due to Hurricane Matthew (2016) and Irma (2017.) The parks were also closed during the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington DC on September 11, 2001
