Splash Mountain Cast Members Celebrate Reopening

Time to get excited! After a lengthy annual refurbishment, Splash Mountain at Walt Disney World is back up and running! The Splash Mountain Cast Members took to social media yesterday to celebrate the reopening, check out the photos below:

Splash Mountain has been closed since January 6, 2020, and needed this time off for magical enhancements. Attractions such as Splash Mountain have scheduled annual refurbishments so that problems can be fixed. This may include painting, repairs, and attention to the ride mechanics itself.

Cast Members Celebrate
It looks like all of the Splash Mountain Cast Members had a great time! Guests were eager to ride the attraction and lined up in anticipation, despite the colder weather. Check out the special celebration cake pictured below:

Splash Mountain’s History
Splash Mountain opened at Walt Disney World in October 1992 and has been a guest favorite ever since. The ‘Laughing Place’ attraction features elements from Br’er Rabbit stories, along with Br’er Fox and Br’er Bear. It is not unusual for this attraction to see high wait times, especially on a hot day.
This can be a competitive FastPass+ attraction, so be sure to secure yours 60 days in advance when you stay on Walt Disney World property! Just be warned, they call it SPLASH Mountain for a reason!
