Disney Institute Presents: Disney Data & Analytics Conference
This topic intrigued me. So much so, that I sent along a memo to my boss, seeing if we could head to Orlando later this year.
What exactly is a “Disney Data & Analytics Conference?”
Well, listen up.
About the Disney Data & Analytics Conference
The Disney Institute Blog posted:
Similar to other Disney Institute Summits, DDAC is an educational and networking conference geared towards business leaders and professionals who want to benchmark the latest trends, ideas, and approaches. But, DDAC also has many of its own unique features and a rich history, having grown to become a top industry conference for those who work in data and analytics.
Back in 2001, DDAC launched as an internal training and development session exclusively for Disney Cast Members who worked in data and analytics. Over time, attendance continued to grow as more and more Disney Cast Members were dedicated to areas specific to data and analytics and there was a common purpose amongst the teams.
By the turn of the decade, key stakeholders began to realize how the learning and development training offered at the conference was easily adaptable to other outside businesses and should be accessible to an external audience. This is how the modern-day DDAC was born!
Why Attend?
Now, having been to a “regular” Disney Institute training session, I’d be very interested in finding out how having a lot more participants and sessions can expand the experience.

And Disney Institute added a few more reasons to attend the DDA-C, in particular:
- Interact with seasoned Disney leaders who guide impactful sessions and highlight unique data and analytics concepts, sparking ideas that you can take back to your own team
- Enjoy an exclusive evening event celebration amongst like-minded professionals—with a touch of Disney magic
- Learn from distinguished speakers at their exclusive keynote addresses designed specifically for this conference
- Earn Alumni status, which affords you access to specially priced Disney Institute programs
But, as far as I am concerned, the best reason to attend is:
Currently, DDAC attendees span a broad audience of business leaders and professionals from more than 250 organizations across the globe, in addition to hundreds of Disney Cast Members. Nearly 60 percent of attendees are executives or managers at their organizations, with the remaining 40 percent of attendees identifying themselves as analysts or entry-level positions.

This means that this guy won’t be alone in his “novice-ness” when it comes to Digital Analytics.
Anyway, I’ll be keeping an eye on this and will post more as August nears. And I’ll ask my facilitators about the conference when I get to Orlando in March.
