Gary Sinise Receives Award from Congressional Medal of Honor Society
Gary Sinise, founder of the Gary Sinise Foundation and friend of Disney through his Snowball Express, received the Patriot Award at the Reagan Library this week.
The Patriot Award is the highest honor given by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. Sinise has continued to work to support veterans and their families since his role as Lt. Dan in the film Forrest Gump.
His foundation is known for providing support to military families like building specially equipped homes for wounded veterans and raising money through concerts with his band “Lieutenant Dan”.
In December, Sinise sent over 1,700 family members of fallen service members to Walt Disney World through his Snowball express. He partnered with American Airlines to fly familes from all over the country for some holiday magic at Walt Disney World.
Disney fans are proud and appreciative of Sinise and all of his charitable work. Deserving of the award he will continue to support veterans and their families. We look forward to seeing him at Walt Disney World whether he is the narrator of Candlelight Processional or with more military families.
