Celebrate National Popcorn Day With Some Savory Walt Disney World Treats
Today is National Popcorn Day in the US and where better to celebrate than at the Disney theme parks! Each year Disney’s amazing cast members pop thousands of pounds of light, fluffy, buttery popcorn both at theme parks here and around the globe. As a matter of fact when it comes to Disney, you’ll find popcorn around every corner!
One of our favorite Instagram shots is definitely a simple let delicious box of popcorn held proudly in front of Disney’s most iconic landmarks! This includes Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland Resorts, Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland and Disneyland Paris Resorts, Enchanted Storybook Castle at Shanghai Disney Resort, and once its magical transformation is complete, the brand new Castle of Magical Dreams at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.
Best of all, each of these resorts has their own delicious array of popcorn flavors. You’ll find tons of different types of popcorn at each park. Here are some that we consider to be the most noteworthy!
Walt Disney World
One of our favorite places to get popcorn at Disney is at Epcot. Anytime we visit we make a beeline for the Future World Popcorn Cart found near Journey Into the Imagination with Figment. Here they serve up three amazing flavors: Cheddar Cheese, Buffalo Blue Cheese, and Sour Cream. Our quick tip: Ask for a mix and you’ll get all three layered into one box. But have those wet wipes at the head as it’s messy!
Another Epcot popcorn that has a cult following is the Maple Popcorn at the Canada Pavilion! The Maple Syrup flavor is a perfect sweet addition to the salty popcorn. Speaking of sweet try walking past Karamell Kuche at the Germany pavilion without getting a whiff of the amazing caramel popcorn and NOT stopping to try some. You can’t do it. We’ve tried!
Festival of the Arts:
In addition, popcorn fans visiting this time of year are in for a special treat. As part of the Epcot International Festival of the Arts you’ll find a fun popcorn pairing at the Refreshment Outpost. This offering features three different types of popcorn expertly paired with the beers on tap. This includes Barrel of Monks Brewery Endless Enigma Golden Pale Ale with Bacon Barbecue Popcorn, Collective Arts Brewing Life in the Clouds Hazy IPA with Jalapeño Ranch Popcorn, and M.I.A. Beer Company Malt Bach Brown Ale with Buffalo Bleu Cheese Popcorn.

Galaxy’s Edge:
For all you popcorn-loving Star Wars fans, you’ll want to head over to Black Spire Outpost at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at either Disneyland or Walt Disney World. Order up the Outpost Popcorn Mix at Kat Saka’s Kettle and you’ll be smitten with the colorful blend of sweet and spicy flavors! While supplies last you can even get it served in a droid bucket!
Disneyland Resort:
Over on the West Coast you’ll want to drive on over to Disney California Adventure for popcorn worth revving your engines over. Make your first stop the Cozy Cone Motel where you’ll find multiple flavors including Dill Pickle, Buffalo Ranch, White Cheddar, Sriracha, Pizza, and Garlic Parmesan. You can even order it up in an awesome Lightning McQueen popcorn bucket.
Can I get a “Ka-Chow!?”
Tokyo Disneyland:
At Tokyo Disneyland Resort you’ll also find an amazing array of popcorn flavors including caramel, curry, honey, black pepper, strawberry and more. Just be on the lookout for the many popcorn wagons scattered throughout the resort.
Shanghai Disneyland:
At Shanghai Disneyland, Disney recently introduced strawberry, steak and crayfish flavors throughout the different lands!
Hong Kong Disneyland Resort:
This theme park also has its own unique set of popcorn flavors including honey mustard and Italian Salt and Pepper.
Disneyland Paris:
Here you’ll find both sweet and savory varieties at Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park that are sure to have you saying “Magnifique!”
Novelty Popcorn Buckets:
Last but not least, at all of the theme parks as well as Disney Cruise Line and Aulani, you’ll find a variety of novelty popcorn buckets that have become a collecting craze amongst Disney regulars! Be on the lookout for popcorn buckets in an eclectic array of shapes and sizes from Mickey Balloon buckets to character buckets, holiday containers and even one fashioned after Cinderella’s Royal Carriage. These are switched up regularly throughout the year! If you keep following along with MickeyBlog we promised to keep you posted.
