Disney’s Skyliner Shut Down Last Night For Several Hours
On our walk over from Disney’s BoardWalk to Epcot last night we noticed that the Disney Skyliner was not in operation. This was about 6:00 PM EST.
We asked castmembers how long it would be down and they told us they weren’t sure. They stated there were technical difficulties, but that was all they would disclose.
Our friend NIck over at MagicalNewsLIVE was actually on the platform waiting to ride the Skyliner when people were being evacuated off.
A guest named Madison Hagan tweeted to @WDWGuestService that she was stuck on the Skyliner and couldn’t hear the announcement. She was clearly looking for an update. Jason Gunn from Fox 35 Orlando responded to Madison asking if she had a photo of the stuck Skyliner.
Hello Madison. I'm with Fox 35 Orlando. Do you have a picture of the Skyliner being stuck?

Madison Hagan replied to Gunn with two photos apparently taken while stuck in the air. As she stated, it’s tough to make too much out in the photos since it was dark outside.
Hagan also wrote that she was stuck in the air “for a good 30 mins.”
Hard to tell because it’s dark out. Just started moving again but we were stuck for a good 30 mins pic.twitter.com/nDjiagKpIe

Hagan did send one more tweet updating her situation and noting that she is “finally off skyliner after 30 mins…” As of 11:30 PM EST, still no reply for @WDWGuestService.
@WDWGuestService finally off skyliner after 30 mins and not one CM apologized to us for the inconvenience or even asked if we needed any extra assistance. We were stuck 150ft in the air for 30 mins on a cold and windy night and we received 0 customer service after the fact.

We went to watch Epcot Forever inside Epcot’s World Showcase and on our way back to the BoardWalk, we were told by several castmembers that the Skyliner was shut down for the night. It was running, however, no guests were allowed on it.
Signage stating the Skyliner is not operating were placed throughout various parts of Disney’s BoardWalk Resort.
MickeyBlog reported back on October 5, 2019 of an accident on the Skyliner which caused it to shut down for several days. While we’re not aware what tonight’s shutdown was caused by, we can only hope it’s a minor issue.
