9 Splashtacular Disney Water Rides From Around the Globe
When it comes to a Summer vacation at Disney, no matter what incredible theme park you’re at- it’s typically synonymous with HEAT! Yes though Disney days are filled with lots of pixie dust there’s also a far amount of sweatiness. That’s why nothing beats a Disney water ride allowing you to cool off when temperatures start to soar! No matter where you are on the globe, we thought we’d give you a some splashtacular ways to cool off during your next visit to the Mouse!
Splash Mountain – Disneyland and Disney World
It does matter what coast you’re on, this is the most “hare-raising” (Pardon our pun) splash-inducing attraction at Disneyland Park. One of Disney’s mountain rides, guests are invited to hop inside a log and float along while following Br’er Rabbit to his laughing place. Along the way, you’ll get a big dose of Disney’s Audio-Animatronics at their best and will be singing along to some catchy tunes before your giant drop into the briar patch!
Frozen Ever After –Epcot
For those that don’t want the spills and thrills of Splash Mountain, this mild-mannered boat ride in Epcot’s World Showcase is a nice alternative. Hope one your boat for a journey across Arendelle where you’ll meet Anna and Elsa and sail through various scenes from the film including a visit to Troll Valley. Culminating in a visit to Elsa’s ice palaces you’ll scream with delight as she plunges you down a small waterfall.
Aquatopia – Tokyo DisneySea
Yes! You read that correctly. It’s not Autotopia but Aquatopia! At Port Discovery in Tokyo DisneySea, guests can coast above the water in a three-person watercraft. Twirling, swirling, and spinning, your hydro-glider vehicle dodges a maze of fountains and whirlpools. Though riders do tend to stay quite dry on this ride, look out for the dancing spouts of water and fountains around you. The wet version of Aquatopia is available all summer long, from now through September 30.
Kali River Rapids – Animal Kingdom
Expect a good dousing on this white water rafting ride found in the Asia section at Animal Kingdom theme park! Guests will be swept away on an exciting adventure through the jungles of Asia. From rapids to waterfalls to raging currents and a 20-foot plummet, the rotating 12-seat vehicle raft guests through the choppy Chakrandi River.
Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station –Magic Kingdom
Confession: I’m 40 and I’ve been known to spend some time at this water play area in Storybook Circus splashing around with the best of em. This whimsical water play area is the perfect place to beat the heat. The tops of circus trains blow out streams of water along with the monkeys, elephants and camels (oh my…) may spray water onto visiting guests. It’s up to you how wet you get in this play area.
Pirates of the Caribbean – Disneyland Paris
Yo ho, yo ho a pirate’s life for me! From sailing into the crosshairs of cannon fire, a fiery port full of scalawags and buccaneers to a ghoulish encounter with a skeletal foe. As with any swashbuckling adventure ’cross the sea, brace yourselves for the unpredictable waters, which could mean sailing down small waterfalls that may or may not splash your boat…
Na’vi River Journey – Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Pandora – The World of Avatar, features one of the most impressive Audio-Animatronics® in Walt Disney Imagineering history. The Na’vi Shaman of Songs is a centerpiece of the astonishing visual wonder of the Na’vi River Journey attraction. Explore the bioluminescent forests and exotic plants and animals of Pandora while you float on this mystical boat ride.
Jungle River Cruise- Hong Kong Disneyland
You’ll find variations of this ride at most Disney theme parks but there’s something pretty special about Hong Kong’s version. Only on this daring attraction will you be whisked away to the remote Rivers of Adventure, encountering roaming wildlife and wise-cracking skippers in just around eight minutes! During your voyage, you probably won’t get wet but watch out for playful elephants, poison darts ricocheting on the water and the treacherous trek through the legendary Canyon of the Gods.
Voyage to the Crystal Grotto- Shanghai Disneyland
This enchanting display of music, light, and wonder takes guests on a whimsical boat ride past sculpture gardens and amazing water displays featuring Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Fantasia, Tangled, Mulan, and The Little Mermaid.
