The 2019 International Festival of the Arts Kicks Off Today at Epcot
Two festivals a year were not enough at Epcot. So, a few years ago, the International Festival of the Arts was added to the schedule and it does not disappoint. Guests attending the Festival are treated to what you have becomes accustomed to at an Epcot Festival including delicious food items and festive photo ops, and of course – art! When the festival kicks off today Friday, January 18, 2019, special Disney on Broadway shows featuring top entertainment talents are offered as well as interactive art and workshops for the whole family to enjoy.
Entertainment Straight from Broadway
New for this year, the Disney on Broadway Concert Series is presented daily at 5:30, 6:45, and 8 pm at the American Gardens Theater stage in the World Showcase. Guests who take in these shows will see pairs of Broadway stars singing your favorite songs from popular Disney on Broadway productions like “The Lion King,” “Mary Poppins, ” and “Frozen.” The lineup changes weekly based on the following rotation:
- Kerry Butler (“Beauty and the Beast”) and Kevin Massey (“Tarzan”)
- Meredith Inglesby (“The Little Mermaid”) and Steve Blanchard (“Beauty and the Beast”)
- Arielle Jacobs and Adam Jacobs (“Aladdin”)
- Heidi Blickenstaff (“Freaky Friday”) and Gavin Lee (“Mary Poppins”)
- Ashley Brown (“Mary Poppins”) and Josh Strickland (“Tarzan”)
- Kissy Simmons and Alton Fitzgerald White (“The Lion King”)
Seats can be guaranteed by booking a Disney on Broadway Concert Series Dining Package for breakfast, lunch, or dinner at any participating Epcot restaurant.

Treats and Eats
As I said earlier, an Epcot Festival is not complete without some delicious treats and eats. And, the International Festival of the Arts does not disappoint! Guests will be treated to 13 Food Studios around the World Showcase offering bites and sips of culinary magic that take food art to another level. I’m talking smoked salmon and cream gateau with egg yolk cream, micro herbs and even paddle fish caviar available at The Painter’s Palate. Head over to Decadent Delights for the lemon and blood orange tart and white chocolate and purple sweet potato mousse with caramel, coconut and maple meringue.
Artful Interactive Opportunities
One thing not missing from the International Festival of the Arts is the interactive fun! “Say cheese” inside an Artful Photo Op iconic painting. Or, leave your mark when you stroke your paintbrush on the paint-by-number mural along World Showcase Plaza. Be awed by the acrobatic talent of performing artists who showcase gravity-defying feats. Go on the hunt and join Figment’s Brush with the Masters Scavenger Hunt. For those looking for some art to take home, over 100 artist exhibition are set up in over 30 locations. There’s also the opportunity to see your favorite Disney characters live onstage!
Workshops and Seminars
Are you an artist at heart? Then, make sure to check out one of the seminars or workshops offered during the International Festival of the Arts. Whether you join a complimentary seminar led by a professional ranging in photography to cosmetology to watermelon carving and even the art of the Disney Topiary. The more serious artists pay a small fee and take part in an interactive workshop with one of many artists booked Friday through Mondays to give you a creative hand-on experience and walk away with your own keepsake!
