HOWEVER – did you know that the theme parks are about SO much more than those classic well-loved treats? Tasty Treat: Jungle Julep
Summer is nearing an end, but it is still sunny and warm in Anaheim, CA! One of my favorite things about Disneyland are the amazing slushy treats that are available at both Disneyland and California Adventure park. On a warm day – and really, isn’t that EVERY day at Disneyland Resort – a sweet frozen slushy can be a perfectly refreshing treat that the entire family can enjoy. Today we are going to feature one of my favorite slushies available at Disneyland Resort – the Jungle Julep!
What is it?
A refreshing slush of Pineapple, Orange, Grape, and Lemon Juices! Served with a paper drink umbrella, palm leaf, and orange slice for a festive, tropical vibe.
Why try it?
First, it is important to note that you should not leave Disneyland without trying at least one type of slushy! A variety of options are scattered throughout Disneyland Park and California Adventure Park in flavors that range from sweet to sour to natural to candy. The Jungle Julep is just one of the many options available, but it is arguably one of the highlights! Whereas most are simply one-note flavors; the Jungle Julep takes it up a notch by mixing multiple fruit flavors in one slush!

The Jungle Julep is predominately grape flavored (thus, its purple color) with touches of pineapple, orange, and lemon mixed in. The fruit juices are first frozen and then blended down to a fine icy slush. Concord grape flavor provides a rich sweetness, making the slush bold and satisfying. The citrus orange and lemon flavors add a zesty punch to the slush, balancing sweet and tart perfectly in one sip and making it enjoyable all the way down to the last sip. Finally, pineapple adds a honeyed tropical note to the cold, frosted drink!
Where can I find it?
Jungle Juleps are available at Bengal Barbecue in Adventureland at Disneyland Park! This iconic counter service spot has been serving hungry adventurers a variety of tasty treats for over 25 years! Yep, it’s been around longer than most guests have!
The menu is filled with a more adventurous fare than your standard burger and hot dog theme park choices. Skewers of chicken, beef, and vege-tables are grilled over a wood-fired open flame and basted with a variety of sauces from sweet to savory to spicy!
These little skewers are considered a “snack” by most standard, but order a few with a scoop of Bengal Barbecue’s jasmine scented rice and you’ve got a unique, flavorful, and delicious plate of food! With its tropical juices that blend sweet and tart, the jungle julep blends in perfectly with the exotic skewers, creating a refreshing sip with each bite of meat and veggies!
