The Top Adult Activities on Disney Cruises
Is there anything for adults to do on a Disney Cruise? I hear this question a lot…and the answer is YES! In fact, there is so much for adults to do, you most likely won’t get to it all! Whether you are traveling without kids or are just looking for some adult-only time while the kids hit the youth clubs, you will be pleasantly surprised with all the options! Many people already know all about the awesome main pools, AquaDuck and AquaDunk, which are really geared towards everyone from kids to adults, couples to families; but don’t worry, Disney has not forgotten about adults who are just looking for a little time away! So, if you are wondering just what you are going to do without a casino onboard, take a look at what is waiting for you on a Disney Cruise! Here are the top adult activities on Disney cruises!
Relaxation!
Quiet Cove Pool: Make your way to Deck 9, Forward, on the Wonder and Magic or Deck 11, Forward, on the Dream and Fantasy to enjoy this adults-only pool. Guests ages 18 and older can swim in this quiet, kid-free pool or lounge on the deck, while enjoying a specialty coffee or fun cocktail! There is a main pool, along with whirlpool spas for all your relaxation goals! And for the kid in you, Cast Members host games and activities throughout the day! Just check the daily schedule for the most up-to-date times.
The Cove Café and Signals Pool Bar: Located just next to Quiet Cove Pool, The Cove Café is the perfect place to grab a sweet treat, gourmet coffee or mixed drink. If you are on the Magic or Wonder, stop by Signals pool bar for a beer or frozen drink! Enjoy your snacks, while watching some TV, in the indoor lounge or head to the outdoor seating, overlooking the pool, where you can catch up on some reading or just listen to the soothing sounds of the ocean.
Satellite Falls and Satellite Sun Deck (Dream and Fantasy): A relaxing and peaceful wading pool is just steps away from Quiet Cove Pool. Sit on the edge and dip your feet in or step underneath the gentle, cascading rain waterfall for the ultimate in relaxation. Be sure to save some time to lounge in the shaded Satellite Sun Deck area, which happens to come with some of the most stunning ocean views.
Fun in the Sun!
Serenity Bay (Castaway Cay): If your itinerary includes a stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, and you are looking for an opportunity to unwind in a kid-free zone, you must plan to visit Serenity Bay. This secluded beach is reserved for guests 18 and older and offers open-air cabana massages, island drinks at Castaway Air Bar and some tasty treats at Air Bar BBQ. If you are looking for a little luxury, consider renting a cabana for the day. Some of the things included with your cabana rental are comfortable lounges, fresh water shower, hammock, unlimited soda and water, snacks, fresh fruit, snorkel equipment, tube and float rentals, bike rental, sunscreen, sand toys, magazines and more! There are only 4 cabanas at Serenity Bay and they go quickly, but it’s definitely something to think about!
Rejuvenation!
Senses Spa & Salon: If you are in need of some “me-time,” make your way to Senses Spa & Salon for a little pampering! A variety of spa and salon treatments are offered daily. Perhaps you will book a massage, facial, body wrap, manicure, pedicure or hairstyling service! Men, how about booking your favorite grooming service while onboard?
Rainforest Room: If you are not sure that you want an actual spa or salon service while onboard, but would rather just a super relaxing and peaceful place to visit throughout your cruise, you may want to purchase a Rainforest Room pass! This room is in Senses Spa and is only available to guests who have purchased a pass. Get ready to enjoy tropical, scented showers, heated loungers or relaxation rooms (depending on your ship), saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs overlooking the ocean! Passes are limited and sell out quickly, so be sure to put this on the top of your to-do list when you arrive at the terminal!
Gourmet Dining!
Palo: Guests who are looking for a signature dining option, look no further! All 4 ships offer a wonderful gourmet dining option at Palo. This adults-only restaurant provides an intimate setting with sweeping ocean views. Not only will you enjoy a delicious, Northern Italian-inspired meal, but you will also have a wide variety of fine wines and cocktails to choose from. Remember to save room for dessert…you’ll definitely want to try the homemade tiramisu or the chocolate soufflé, while enjoying your cappuccino, espresso or latte!
Remy: The Dream and Fantasy offer a second, adults-only dining option, Remy. If you prefer fine French cuisine, then you should reserve a table here! You’ll start off with a chilled champagne cocktail colette, prepared right at your table. Then, your main course will take you through multiple tasting rounds, “celebrating freshness, the sea and earth.” Special touches include tableside trolleys, serving international cheeses and decanting stations for wine. Stick around after dinner to enjoy dessert and coffee-service for the perfect ending to a delectable meal.
Nightlife!
No matter which ship you are sailing on, there will be a Nighttime Entertainment area, exclusively for adults! Although the clubs and lounges vary from ship to ship, the fun, dancing, drinks and nightlife options remain awesome! Whether you are looking to show off your latest dance moves or just want to grab a drink, you are bound to find something to do each night of your cruise.
Disney Magic: “After Hours” is devoted just to adults and is located on Deck 3, Forward. Here you will find Keys, an intimate piano bar; O’Gill’s Pub, an Irish pub and sports bar; Fathoms, an ocean-inspired nightclub with karaoke, comedy shows, live music and game shows; and Promenade Lounge, a casual lounge featuring live entertainment.
Disney Wonder: Similar to the Magic, “After Hours” caters to adults and can be found on Deck 3, Forward. Stop by Cadillac Lounge, a classic Hollywood-style piano bar; Crown & Fin, a traditional British pub; and Azure, where you can dance the night away in a nightclub inspired by the sea.
Disney Dream: Find your way to Deck 4, Aft, and you will discover “The District”- just for adults! You can choose from 5 bars and lounges, which are interconnected: District Lounge, a casual and relaxed piano bar; Evolution, a modern dance club; Pink: Wine & Champagne Bar, a truly romantic spot; Skyline, a chic bar with amazing views; and Pub 687, a fun pub for sports fans!
Disney Fantasy: “Europa” is a European-inspired nighttime adult area, located on Deck 4, Aft. Make your way through La Piazza, an Italian-style lounge; O’Gills Pub, an Irish pub and sports bar; Ooh La La, an elegant champagne bar; Skyline, a chic bar with amazing views; and The Tube, an “underground” London nightclub.
So, as you can see, there is so much for adults to do! This doesn’t even include the family activities, live Broadway-style shows, deck parties or character meet and greets that everyone, ages 6 months to 100+, is invited to!
What are you waiting for? It’s time to book your Disney Cruise!
