7 Reasons Why Ohana Is One Of Our Favorite Places to Have Breakfast at Walt Disney World
Here at MickeyBlog, we get asked quite a bit about some of our favorite places to dine on property. That’s why I thought I’d share with you one of my family’s favorite places to have breakfast at Walt DIsney World – Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. To give you a taste of why we love this eatery so much, here are 7 of our favorite things about this early AM offering.
1. It’s at the Polynesian
Regardless of where you are laying your head at Walt Disney World, it can be a lot of fun visiting some of Walt Disney World’s other resort properties. This is especially true with Disney’s three monorail resorts (Polynesian, Contemporary and Grand Floridian.) There is so much to see, do and explore at each of these properties that heading to your breakfast reservation can feel like an adventure in itself. While you’re at the Polynesian we recommend that you pick up a Dole Whip at Pineapple Lanai, gets some tropical duds at the gift shop or pick up a delicious Kona Coffee on your way out!
2. Delicious Breakfast Items With a Hawaiian Flare
Trust me when I say that a morning meal at Ohana will definitely see you through until lunchtime. The breakfast fare is all-you-care-to-eat and is brought to your table family style. The breakfast service is sure to have something that everyone will love and includes scrambled eggs, Island-style fried potatoes, Hawaiian Pork sausage, Hawaiian-style ham topped with pineapple compote, fresh fruit and a pineapple coconut bread that you won’t be able to stop talking about!
3. Stitch Juice
If you like to start off your morning with a big glass of juice than you will not be able to get enough of the special Stitch Juice served up with your breakfast. This refreshing tropical beverage is a combination of guava juice, passion fruit, and orange juice. It really captures the tastes of the islands and will immediately make you feel like you are on holiday. It also pairs wonderfully with the delicious bread I mentioned above.
4. Lilo & Stitch
Fans of Disney’s animated film Lilo & Stitch will get an opportunity to cozy up to this loveable duo while you dine. Both will be on hand to pose for photos. Parents can even surprise the little Lilo & Stitch fan by adding a Storybook Moment compliments of Disney Floral and Gifts. This Ohana gifting experience includes a friendship tote, Stitch plush, a ukulele and an exclusive Lilo & Stitch Keepsake. It retails for $99.99 and can be delivered to the resort where it will be waiting for you during your meal! You can find out more at Disney Floral & Gifts.
5. Location, Location, Location!
Conveniently located within one of the monorail resort, having breakfast at Ohana is the perfect option for those looking to spend a morning at the Magic Kingdom. Breakfast is offered from 7:30 am making it possible to fill up before hopping one of the boats or the monorail over to the theme park. Ohana is also easy to get to for guests staying at one of Disney’s other monorail resorts and is also a quick monorail transfer over to Epcot! You can beat this breakfast spot for it’s central location!
6. Polynesian Mickey
In addition to Lilo & Stitch you’ll also have a chance to meet Mickey Mouse. During this character dining experience, Mickey is all dressed in the Polynesian style. He’s joined by Pluto and both will visit the tables while you dine for photos and autographs. They also lead the kids through fun games, songs and a Polynesian-style parade!
7. Ambiance
From the moment you walk through the door at Ohana, you’ll love the island vibes. From fantastic woodcarvings and Hawaiian artefacts to the wonderful Polynesian tunes being played while you dine. If you’re lucky enough to get a window view you may even be able to see across to the Magic Kingdom with Cinderella’s Castle shimmering in the distance.
For those interested in trying out Ohana during your next visit, advance reservations are highly recommended. This is a popular dining spot and reservations fill up quickly. The cost to dine at Ohana is between $39 – $59 per adult. For those on the Disney Dining Plan eating here will set you back one Table Service Dining Credit.
