Your Guide To Live Entertainment at Walt Disney World Resort
It is true that all the World is a stage, particularly when you are Walt Disney World! Yesterday we shared with you two entertainment offerings coming to the theme parks this Summer: Guardians of the Galaxy- Awesome Mix Live! at Epcot at a new Lion King-themed Tree of Life Awakenings at Animal Kingdom. But that’s not all the incredible entertaiment you’ll find across these four amazing theme parks. Walt Disney World is chock-a-block with live entertainment which is why we here at MickeyBlog thought we’d give you a quick overview of the exciting array of options just waiting to dazzle you!
Magic Kingdom
Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration – This special celebration honors those true originals, Mickey and Minnie Mouse. As part of this celebration visitors can enjoy special entertainment offerings like the “Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party” that will have you dancing your way down Main Street U.S.A. Also be on the lookout for special merchandise and speciality food and beverages paying tribute to this dynamic duo!
Mickey’s Royal Friendship Fare – Take place several times throughout the day at the Castle Forecourt Stage, Mickey and friends cordially invite you to an interactive magical, music extravaganza featuring dancing, dazzling effects and music from films. Characters include Tiana and friends from The Princess and the Frog and Rapunzel and Flynn from Tangled. Mickey even recruits Olaf, Anna and Elsa from Frozen to join in on the fun.
Monsters, In. Laugh Floor – Head over to Tomorrowland and discover the power of laughter with Mike Wazowski and friends from Monsters Inc.. Trust us when we say this hilarious interactive show will have you laughing out loud!
Dapper Dans – Be on the lookout for this barbershop quartet wearing colorful pinstripe suits, straw hats, spats and taps. This four-man group performs a toe-tapping selection of a cappella American favorites including “Yankee Doodle Dandy,” “Mr Sandman” and “If You’re Happy and You Know It.”
Casey’s Corner Pianist – As you walk down Main Street U.S.A be on the lookout for a talented pianist playing fantastic ragtime tunes. Featuring catchy, lively and foot-tapping rhythms, its the sort of music that invites you to sing along.
Happily Ever After – Visitors to the Magic Kingdom won’t want to miss this dazzler of an evening fireworks display taking guests on an unforgettable journey that captures the heart, humor and heroism of many of your favorite Disney films including Aladdin, Frozen, The Incredibles, The Little Mermaid and more!
“Once Upon a Time” – This a nighttime show uses special projection-mapping technology to dramatically fill every nook and cranny of Cinderella Castle with a big dose of Disney magic. Don’t miss it right before the evening fireworks.
Festival of Fantasy Parade – Paying homage to the unbridled magic and vivid pageantry of Fantasyland, this afternoon parade is a sight-and-sound spectacular that winds its way through the streets of the Magic Kingdom.
Let the Magic Begin – Prior to park opening, you’re invited to make way to Cinderella’s Castle where the sound of a trumpet fanfare will burst through the morning air, signalling the arrival of a very important procession filled with some of your favorite Disney friends!
Hollywood Studios
An Incredible Celebration – Celebrate Hollywood Studios’ 30th Anniversary like a superhero with this special event featuring Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible and Frozone in “The Super Shinding” dance party. You may even have a chance to cozy up to super-suit designer Edna Mode!
Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy – Starting on March 31, 2019, this new sho experience will bring guests face to face with racing legend Lightning McQueen from Cars will keep the Pixar party going.
Beauty and the Beast- Live Onstage – Relax in an open-air arena while you’re taken through a heartwarming tale of Belle and Beast. You’ll be blown away by this lush stage performance featuring colorful costumes, breathtaking scenery and the songs you’ve come to know and love!
Meet Mike and Sulley from Disney•Pixar’s “Monsters Inc.”- Rumor has it that a door to the Monster World is now open inside Walt Disney Presents. Go inside to meet besties Mike and Sulley who will be on hand to pose for photos!
Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! – The intergalactic dance party returns to Epcot this summer. Star-Lord and Gamora from the Guardians of the Galaxy films will take guests on a musical journey through the cosmos, showcasing hits from Star-Lord’s Awesome Mixtapes. Live shows will take place daily from June 14 -August 18.
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular – Cheer on Inday and Marion as they perform amazing stunts with special effects to demonstrate movie-making magic. As the two heroes triumph over traps, villains and obstacles, you’ll gain valuable insights into movie magic.
March of the First Order – Star Wars fans at Hollywood Studios will stand in awe as the ruthless Captain Phasma leads her Stormtroopers on a march down Hollywood Boulevard.
Fantasmic!- Spellbound guests of Disney’s Hollywood Studios will watch as the forces of good and evil battle it out in Fantasmic!. This amazing spectacle of pyrotechnics, laser lights, characters, music, decorative floats and dancing water taking audiences through Mickey Mouse’s imagination.
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular – Relive your favorite Star Wars moments as they are projected onto the Chinese Theater at Hollywood Studios. Star Wars Launch Bay – This treasure trove of Star Wars memorabilia also boasts a galaxy of stars from the film series including BB-8, Chewbacca, Kylo Ren and Stormtroopers. So be sure to have your autograph books and cameras at the ready.
Epcot
The 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Arts – The first of Epcot’s 2019 festivals is running through February 25th. During the Festival of the Arts, guests can indulge in world-class culinary, visual and performing arts including the Disney on Broadway Concert Series which will be running every day of the festival.
Turtle Talk With Crush – Take a seat at Turtle Talk theater for this 15 minute chat with righteous dude Crush the lovable turtle from Finding Nemo. Through amazing hydrophone technology guests can ask him your burning questions covering everything from marine biology, his favorite foods and more!
The Garden Rocks Concert Series (Seasonal) – This popular concert series takes place during the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival which will be running from March 6 – June 3, 2019. Three shows take place nightly with a range of popular acts from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond. The concerts take place at the American Gardens Theatre in the World Showcase.
Jammitors- Typically found tidying up around Future World East, this musical clean-up crew will have you moving and grooving as they drum up some catchy-tunes using very unique utensils!
Rose and Crown Pub Musician – Head over to the UK pavilion in the World Showcase and grab a pint as you sing along to pub favorites from the British Isles!
IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth – Epcot visitors will stand in wondering as this awe-inspiring evening fireworks display unfolds before you. This nighttime offering pay homage to the nations of the world with an emotive soundtrack and brilliant special effects. Slated end its 20-year run later in 2019 see this evening show while you can.
Meet Characters Around the World Showcase – As you make your way around the World Showcase guests will find Disney Characters in the countries that inspired their stories including Anna and Elsa in Norway, Mulan in China, Snow White in Germany and Alice in the United Kingdom.
Animal Kingdom
“Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party” – Take a walk on the wild side at Disney’s Animal Kingdom during this dance party featuring Timon and Rafiki from Disney’s “The Lion King.” Guests will also be able to celebrate the 25th anniversary of “The Lion King” with special photo ops at the Discovery Island park entrance.
The Tree of Life Awakenings – Starting on Memorial Day weekend Disney’s Animal Kingdom will awaken in a whole new way to pay tribute to “The Lion King”. The evening Awakenings projection show will feature music and animation that pays tribute to the classic film.
The Festival of the Lion King – Join Simba and his friends for an exciting and upbeat musical adventure. This spectacular show features songs and characters from the Disney animated classic The Lion King. This is a moving and immersive theatrical experience that is simply not to be missed where you’ll see everything from playful acrobats to soaring aerialists!
Pandora Conservation Initiative Utility Suite – You’ll find this conservation scientist roaming Pandora – The World of Avatar. This 10-foot-tall mechanical suit roams the Mo’ara Valley to study fauna, collect plant samples and explore the rough terrain. As it wanders the pilot is usually more than happy to answer questions and share details about conservation efforts in Pandora.
DiVine – As you make your way around the Animal Kingdom, be on the lookout for this beautiful forest creature! She can often be spotted between Asia and Africa as well as the Oasis. You’ll definitely want to have your cameras at the ready.
Rivers of Light – Get swept away in a timeless show that celebrates the beauty of all living things. With a brilliant fusion of water, sound and light, it’s quite unlike anything you’ve experienced before! This whimsical water pageant takes place a couple of times nightly so consult the Times Guide!
Finding Nemo – The Musical – Flip your fins over to this extraordinary live musical performance featuring delightful puppets, vibrant sets and underwater special effects that will really make you feel like you are under the sea! Watch as overprotective clownfish Marlin and his forgetful sidekick Dory search for his lost son Nemo.
Up! A Great Bird Adventure – Join Russell and Dug from Disney•Pixar’s “Up.” Disney’s Animal Kingdom presents the world’s most exotic birds starring alongside those fun-loving pals from Disney•Pixar’s “Up.”
Donald’s Dino Bash! – Head over to Dinoland for this special street party featuring Donald, Scrooge McDuck, Launchpad and more of your favorite “DuckTales” friends!
Disney Springs
Raglan Road – While you tuck into delicious Irish dishes like Fish and Chips and Shepherd’s Pie, Raglan’s amazing troupe of Irish folk dancers will dazzle you with their fancy footwork.
House of Blues – From the popular Sunday Gospel Brunch to incredible concerts featuring today’s hottest artists, House of Blue is a a music-lovers dream! The menu featuring Southern specializes is pretty darn good as well!
At the Resorts
Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long- Fort Wilderness Resort – Roast marsh Roast marshmallows, sing songs and share hugs with Chip ‘n’ Dale! Bring your own marshmallows and sticks, or purchase a s’mores kit from the Chuckwagon Snack Bar an create your own favorite campfire treat.
