Disney’s Ticket Price Change Coming October 16
Disney announced a couple weeks back that beginning on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, visitors to Walt Disney World theme parks will be able to purchase tickets with prices based on the date that you choose to visit. This approach to ticket pricing has been modeled off of consumer demand and is based on Disney’s continual effort to better distribute attendance throughout the year! Here are some details for this ticket price change!
Detailed pricing will be available beginning on October 16th. Guests are encouraged to check back with MickeyBlog or reach out to our partner agency MickeyTravels.com for further information on these exciting changes.
With the shift to the date based structure, Walt Disney World is implementing changes to the expiry dates of tickets. Here is a table listing the new structure:
Ticket Duration | Valid Use Period |
1-Day Ticket | Only the start date selected |
2-Day Ticket | Any 2 days within 4 days beginning on the start date |
3-Day Ticket | Any 3 days within 5 days beginning on the start date |
4-Day Ticket | Any 4 days within 7 days beginning on the start date |
5-Day Ticket | Any 5 days within 8 days beginning on the start date |
6-Day Ticket | Any 6 days within 9 days beginning on the start date |
7-Day Ticket | Any 7 days within 10 days beginning on the start date |
8-Day Ticket | Any 8 days within 12 days beginning on the start date |
9-Day Ticket | Any 9 days within 13 days beginning on the start date |
10-Day Ticket | Any 10 days within 14 days beginning on the start date |
Park Hopper?
Guests will still have the option of adding Park Hopper to your tickets which will still adhere to the same structure outlined above. However, those opting for the Park Hopper Plus Option which includes Water Park access will have one more day added to your expiry period so that you can take advantage of the all the water parks have to offer.
Multiple Day Discounts
Disney has announced that they will continue to offer multiple day discounts meaning the more days worth of park tickets you purchase in advance the greater the savings.
Guests who have already planned a Walt Disney World getaway and have purchased tickets will not need to abide by the new structure. The tickets will maintain the same terms and conditions that were in place at the time of purchase. This includes the expiration date. No adjustments to pricing will need to be made on any ticket purchases before October 16th.
Want to Modify?
Visitors looking to make modifications to already purchased Walt Disney World vacation packages should be mindful that should you alter your existing Walt Disney World to a higher prices date after October 16th you will be expected to pay the difference. However, there will be no refunds for those moving to lower-priced dates.
These are certainly exciting changes and we fully expect more information to be released in days and weeks ahead. Feel free to reach out to MickeyBlog with any of your ticketing questions and please check back for updates.
