EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is Back But Here Are Some Differences To Be Aware Of
Today Is The Day Disney Friends! EPCOT is finally open after a four month hiatus and with it the much-loved EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. This year the Fest is back for its longest run ever however Disney is calling it a “Taste” of the normal fest. Due to social distancing requirements as well as attendance caps, Disney has decided to offer a scaled down version which will have the international food booths as the focal point.
Because this is a time of HUGE changes at EPCOT we thought we’d take a quite minute to give you a bit of a sense in terms of what to expect. Let’s dive in…
The Festival Will Last Five Months
When we said its the longest Food & Wine Fest ever, we weren’t kidding. It kicks off today (July 15th) and runs through the Fall. To put that in perspective, last year’s Food and Wine Festival kicked off on August 29th and ran through until just before Thanksgiving (November 23rd.) That means we get a full extra month of deliciousness.
International Food Booths Are Back
A Little Taste of the International Flower & Garden Festival
As an added bonus, visitors to EPCOT this Fall will still have an chance to check out the simply stunning topiaries that were created for the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. As you know, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Flower & Garden was short lived this year but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the incredible creations.
There Will Be a Scavenger Hunt
Special Events and Classes Won’t Be Back This Year
Due to the unique circumstances surrounding this year’s Food & Wine Festival, popular events including food and beverage seminars, cooking demonstrations, tours, and the ever popular Party for the Senses events are on hiatus.
Flower and Garden Festival Merchandise Will Be Available
The abrupt halt to Epcot’s springtime festival must have left them with quite a bit of leftover merchandise on their hands, because when the Food & Wine Festival opens, you’ll still be able to pick some up. In fact, actual Food & Wine merchandise won’t even be available until sometime after the festival opens.
