5 TV Shows That Are Not-To-Be-Missed This Week!
Its a great week to ease into the weekend by curling up on the sofa for some awesome programming and we have 5 incredible shows across Disney’s amazing channels & networks to get you started!
This week it’s all about Everest with not one but two National Geographic specials. For those in need of a good laugh, ABC’s Holey Moley II: The Sequel is just the ticket. The Rock brings the awesomeness with Race to Witch Mountain and then it’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for Hamilton premieres on Disney+
Lost on Everest—Tuesday, June 30, at 9 p.m. ET on National Geographic
This exciting hour-long special attempts to find the remains of explorers George Leigh Mallory and Andrew “Sandy” Irvine who disappeared while just 800 vertical feet from the summit of Mount Everest. With new intel on the location of Irvine’s body, the team will set out to solve the 96-year-old mystery of what happened to these explorers.
Expedition Everest—Tuesday, June 30, at 10 p.m. ET on National Geographic
And if that weren’t enough, we’ve got even more Everest awesomeness coming your way with this documentary following a team of international scientists, climbers and storytellers as they climb the worlds highest peak to conduct the most comprehensive single scientific expedition in Everest history! During the course of this one hour special, you’ll journey 26,000 feet to the “death zone” where a team will install the world’s highest-operating weather stations, collect the worlds tallest ice core and complete the highest-elevation helicopter-based lidar scan. You won’t believe the obstacles this team of researchers encounter while carrying out this groundbreaking exploration.
Holey Moley II: The Sequel—Thursday, July 2, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC
Holey Moley is back and if the hijinks of the first season wasn’t enough, the second season promises to be even more off-the-wall. The Bachelor’s Chris Harrison swings by the mini-golf course for a special episode titled “Love at First Stroke.” Contestants will compete for a romantic date in the final round of Double Dutch Courage. It’s up to 8 single mini-golfers to see if they can hit it off.
Hamilton—Friday, July 3, on Disney+
Admittedly my excitement levels are at fever pitch over the premiere of Hamilton on Disney+ on July 3rd. This unforgettable cinematic stage performance is a filmed version of the original Broadway production of Hamilton! Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton took the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre. Filmed at The Richard Rodgers Theatre in 2016, the 11-time-Tony Award®-, Grammy Award®-, Olivier Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning stage musical also stars Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Jonathan Groff, Christopher Jackson, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Leslie Odom, Jr., Okieriete Onaodowan, Anthony Ramos, and Phillipa Soo.
Race to Witch Mountain—Friday, July 3, on Disney+
If you’ve not seen this 2009 remake of Escape to Witch Mountain starring “The Rock” now is your chance! He plays the role of Jack Bruno, a former mob getaway driver turned taxi cab driver. His life takes a dramatic turn when two aliens disguised as teens suddenly appear in his backseat. What follows is a race against government agents and time itself as the aliens to find his spaceship so they can return to their home planet.
So go pop some popcorn, put on your pyjamas and let’s enjoy some of these awesome programs this week! Also, be sure to keep following along with us for the latest Disney-related news and updates!.
