Single Rider Lines and Virtual Queues WILL NOT Be Implemented When Disney World Reopens Next Month
Earlier today we here at MickeyBlog shared Disney World’s list of attractions, entertainment options and shopping that would be available at each park when they reopen next month. However, one of the things that were noticeably absent from this announcement was the news that Disney would be implementing a virtual queuing system to assist with social distancing. Instead, Cast Members have recently been informed that this is not happening.
As the theme parks inch ever closer to reopening, many Disney insiders were speculating that Disney would implement a system similar to the boarding groups that were used when Rise of the Resistance first opened at Galaxy’s Edge last year. However, the tweet below suggests that cast members have been informed that this will not be happening.
NEW: Disney has told Cast Members there will be no virtual queues used for attractions when parks reopen. This includes Rise of the Resistance. Single rider lines will also not be utilized.
This information has not been posted online (yet) but Cast Members have been informed.

The second major news in this tweet is that SIngle Ride Lines will be discontinued for the time being. Add to this the news we reported earlier that FastPasses will not be utilized and it’s clear that the ONLY lines that will be available are the traditional standby queues.
When Disney first announced that FastPasses would be unavailable, their reasoning was that it frees up the entire area so that social distancing could be better implemented in the lines. We would suspect that this as well as keeping visitors socially distanced was the logic behind the elimination of the single rider lines.
The news regarding Disney World’s decision NOT to use a virtual queuing system has surprised many insiders. However, with attendance limited upon reopening it may be that there isn’t a need (at least not initially) and that this is something that Disney may opt to revisit in the future.
