Let’s Have Fun and Go to All the Disney Resorts!
Shh. I’m going to let you in on a secret.
I miss something even more than Disney theme parks. It’s true!
My favorite Disney thing doesn’t happen on a ride. It’s when taking a break from hectic park days. And I’d like to take you along for the ride today.
Where to Start?
Disney’s official resorts all qualify as architectural marvels. Some of the most famous designers on the planet have had input on these buildings.
However, when I wake up, I’m not ready to appreciate design aesthetics yet. No, I want *breakfast*!
So, let’s head over to my favorite character meal breakfast location. I’m talking about ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort!
After we hug Lilo & Stitch, we can wander around the hotel grounds.
I’ve spent more time at this Disney resort than any other over the past few years. It’s the hotel I love the most on this planet, and I wish I were there right now.
Still, we shouldn’t spend all our time here. Instead, we should hop on the monorail and bounce over to Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
Disney sells it this way:
I prefer to wander the campus, though.
Let’s Go West Until We’re East Again
The Polynesian and the Contemporary share a remarkable piece of Disney history. They were the first two official Disney resorts ever!
Nobody ever believes this, but it’s true. Disneyland Hotel was built and operated by a third-party investor.
Hey, do you want to visit there for a while?
While we’re on the West Coast, we should check out Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, too.
You know what, let’s keep going west until we reach Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa.
In fact, I’m having so much fun that I say we go even farther! Let’s go west until we’re east! Here’s the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel.

And let’s take a look at the impeccably themed Toy Story Hotel, too!
That one was a hotel room. Here’s the hotel campus:
While we’re in China, we might as well visit the three hotels at Hong Kong Disneyland, too.
Don’t miss the Frozen hotel room!
Did you see that sleigh couch???
Of course, I’d be remiss if I skipped Tokyo Disneyland’s hotels while we’re in the Far East.
Let’s start with Tokyo Disneyland Hotel:
This resort is unique in that it features several specialty rooms like Cinderella’s Suite:
and Alice in Wonderland:
Then, there’s the MiraCosta Hotel, quite possibly the most breathtaking Disney property in the world.
That place is actually located inside Tokyo DisneySea!
Back to America!
As we make our way back to the United States, we should also take a quick stop at Disneyland Paris.
I wish the Marvel hotel were open so that we could visit there, too. Ah well.
Okay, it’s time to return to Walt Disney World, where I’m ready to spend a late lunch with the animals.
Yes, it’s still lunch at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge! Time zones are confusing. Anyway, let’s go to Boma!
Once that’s done, we can wander the hotel campus and admire the residents:
Afterward, I want to take a ride on the Disney Skyliner. So, let’s start with the newest property, Disney’s Riviera Resort.

Then, we will ride it to Disney’s Pop Century Resort:
and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort:
I could hang out in those two lobbies all day!
Then, we will go to Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort to do something special.
Let’s order off the secret menu at the food court!
Isn’t that briefcase amazing???
A Few Other Favorites
Okay, we’ve done a lot, but I still have a few more places I’d like to go before we call it a day.
For starters, let’s check out the new skyrise at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.
While we’re here, we should walk the rest of the campus, too.
Yes, that place is incredible, but there are a couple of Moderate Tier resorts that I prefer. One is back on the Disney Skyliner:
And the other is my favorite Moderate Tier property, Disney’s Port Orleans: French Quarter.
I love the intimacy of this hotel. Of course, you might prefer Disney’s Port Orleans: Riverside:
Now, it’s time for a late dinner, and I have two preferences. Let’s visit Disney’s Wilderness Lodge to admire the lobby:
Then, we can eat a hearty meal at Whispering Canyon Café:
or experience the most popular character meal at Walt Disney World right now:
Why is Grumpy always such a jerk?
Before we finish the day, I would like to visit one other hotel. As a DVC member, I have a strong affinity for Disney’s Old Key West Resort.
The one-bedroom suites here are absolutely massive.
Well, we’ve done a lot, but it’s time to wrap up a full day of resort hopping. Let’s end with a view of the BoardWalk.
Sure, we can walk past all the entertainment options by staying at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn.
However, I prefer to gaze on it from across the water at Disney’s Beach Club Resort.
Everyone has a list of their favorite Disney resorts. Mine varies based on where I’ve visited most recently.
At the moment, my top five are the Polynesian, the Contemporary, Beach Club, French Quarter, and Old Key West.
I’ve never been to the Hotel MiraCosta, but that’s at the top of my Disney bucket list.
Which of these places is your dream vacation when the parks reopen? Let us know in the comments.
