Tom Hanks Draws Inspiration from Mr Rogers In Lastest Coronavirus Update
Tom Hanks continues to serve as an inspiration for those worried about COVID-19. As we here at MickeyBlog reported last week, Hanks and his wife were diagnosed with the virus last week and were placed in quarantine in Australia.
Since that time, Hanks (who Disney fans will know as the voice of Woody in the Toy Story films) has been updating fans on his recovery and providing some kind words during a rather tense time. His latest message seems to draw inspiration from Mr. Rogers.
The caption below reads,
“Thanks to the Helpers. Let’s take care of ourselves and each other. Hanx.”

Mr Rogers, who Hanks notably played in the film “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” used to say that his mom would tell him to “lookout for the helpers” during a disaster.
“You will always find people who are helping,’” Rogers said. “To this day, especially in times of ‘disaster,’ I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers — so many caring people in this world.”
The post also included a photo of his breakfast of Vegemite on toast, a stuffed kangaroo and the Australian flag.
The two-time Oscar winner had been in Australia working on an untitled Elvis Presley biopic directed by Baz Luhrmann when he was placed on quarantine.
