Check Out the BIG Changes Coming to Southwest Airlines
Some Disney park-goers (the luckier ones) reside near Disney World or Disneyland Resort and can casually visit the parks with minimal planning. The rest of us, however, undergo meticulous planning to make these park trips possible.
And if you’re one of those who don’t live near the parks, you’ll want to check out the changes Southwest Airlines will be implementing very soon.
Southwest Airlines Changes
According to Business Insider, some controversial changes are coming to Southwest Airlines soon. Starting with the positive–Southwest is introducing seating with more legroom, with the possibility of one-third of the cabin featuring these premium seats. And in February 2025, the airline will kick off 24-hour operations, which will include new overnight flights.
Now, onto the controversial announcement–the airline is eliminating its open seating model and will adopt assigned seating. While Southwest said research showed the majority of customers desire an assigned seating system, those opposing the change have cited open seating as one of the major benefits of flying with the airline. While no exact date for these changes was provided, Southwest said more details would come in September.
We hope these changes make flying with Southwest an even easier experience for travelers. And we’ll keep updating you with the latest in all things Disney–including traveling to the parks–so stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com.
