Marvel Studios Is Set to Return to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con
While Marvel Studios had a small presence at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the studio was noticeably absent from Hall H.
At this time last year, Hollywood had been brought to a halt, first by the WGA strike and then by the SAG-AFTRA strike. Without the ability to utilize its significant star power, Marvel decided to scale things back.
As opposed to the grandiose presentation that has become a staple of SDCC’s penultimate day, Marvel opted to keep their presence limited to a trade floor booth and a comic-book panel.
Marvel Is Set to Return in a Big Way
According to a Deadline, Marvel will be back at Hall H this year with a presentation that will surely be highly anticipated.
This year’s San Diego Comic-Con also just so happens to fall on the opening weekend of Deadpool & Wolverine. With the film heading toward a massive opening, the studio should get something of a victory lap. It would perhaps not be a surprise, then, if Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman showed up.
In previous years, Marvel has made some of their biggest announcements at CDCC. These included 2019, when they previewed their Disney+ plans, and 2022, when they unveiled their Phase 5 and Phase 6 properties.
What Will Marvel Announce This Year?
Possible announcements at this year’s Comic-Con could be further information about The Fantastic Four or perhaps a revelation about Avengers 5. Benedict Cumberbatch previously revealed that production on the fifth Avengers will begin next year, which could make it a prime option for a Comic-Con reveal.
For now, Marvel fans will just have to wait. San Diego Comic-Con will take place July 25-28.
