PHOTOS: First Look at All-New Home Designs Coming to Disney’s Cotino, a Storyliving Community
If you are a frequent reader here at MickeyBlog, then you know that we have been closely following the development of Disney’s first Storyliving community, Cotino.
The first chapter in the Disney Storyliving project is currently being written in California’s Coachella Valley, where development on Cotino is underway.

The new community will be master-planned by Disney, designed in collaboration with Walt Disney Imagineering, and staffed by Disney Cast Members.
“These master-planned communities are intended to inspire residents to foster new friendships, pursue their interests and write the next exciting chapter in their lives — all while enjoying the attention to detail, unique amenities and special touches that are Disney hallmarks,” Disney said when announcing the initiative.
The Latest on Cotino
The last time we checked in on Cotino, Disney revealed the first phase of houses that were being developed for the community.

“We’re thoughtfully and intentionally bringing elements to the community to encourage camaraderie among neighbors while also using our renowned Disney placemaking to weave the essence and beauty of the Coachella Valley into the fabric of the community,” said Claire Bilby, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Signature Experiences Emerging Businesses. “Alongside the developer and builders, we’re creating a special place where residents will have a distinctive lifestyle that can only be found in the Cotino community.”

According to Disney, Walt Disney Imagineering was inspired by the rich history and landscape of Coachella Vallley and drew on the region’s agricultural origins, mid-century modern architecture, and contemporary style.
A Look at the All-New Home Designs
Today, the Cotino team shared a first look at all-new designs from homebuilders Woodbridge Pacific Group and Davidson Communities.

Woodbridge Pacific Group will create five different one-story floor plans for future residents that they can then personalize.

Davidson Communities, meanwhile, has been tasked with building the comes in Cotino’s Lontable Park area. That section is designed for adults over the age of 55. They will also build homes for residents of all ages throughout the community.

Both homebuilders are expected to begin construction on their model homes this summer!
