Tony McFarr, Chris Pratt’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Stunt Double, Has Passed Away at 47
Longtime Hollywood stunt double Tony McFarr has passed away. He was 47.
McFarr was perhaps best known as the frequent stunt double for Chris Pratt in both the Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World franchises. He also performed Pratt’s stunts in the 2016 film Passengers. Following the end of production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Pratt paid tribute to his longtime stunt double on social media.
“Here’s me and my stunt-man Tony McFarr (also Tommy Harper stunt coordinator and our first AD Lars Winther) on set. Been working with Tony since Jurassic World. Love you buddy! Happy wrap,” he wrote.

Outside of his work with Pratt, McFarr had numerous other credits to his name, including stunt work on Captain America: Civil War and Ant-Man and the Wasp. In addition to his Marvel work, McFarr also appeared in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Pitch Perfect 3, and The Darkest Minds.
He was also the stunt double for Jon Hamm in 2018’s Tag and Brendan Fraser in 2019’s The Poison Rose.
McFarr Was Described As Having Been in Good Health
McFarr’s mother told TMZ that the stuntman had died in his home just outside of Orlando. He was described as having been in good health.
Antonio Gerard McFarr was born on October 12, 1976. He began his Hollywood career as an actor, appearing in two episodes of Burn Notice in addition to roles on One Tree Hill, Army Wives, Graceland, Cell, and MacGyver.
McFarr is survived by his parents, his sister, and his daughter. He will be buried in Pennsylvania.
