Construction Update: Concrete Barriers Up at Tron Coaster and Work Continues on Light & Power Co.
MickeyBlog is paying a mid-week visit to Magic Kingdom and we decided to drop in to see how construction is coming along on the upcoming TRON Coaster.
We’ve been tracking the progress of this attraction almost weekly.
It looks like we are now entering the final stages with most of the work now being to the grounds surrounding the coaster.
As you can see from these images, a concrete wall is going up between the TRON Coaster and Tomorrowland Speedway.
Underneath, you can also see the tunnel that will accommodate the Walt Disney World Railroad.
Though Disney has yet to give an opening date for the TRON Coaster or a reopening date for the Railroad, we do know that they’ve already started training engineers for the train ride.
We take that as a positive sign that we should be getting an announcement soon!.
In addition, work is being carried out to the exterior of Light & Power Co.
This is the retail shop that Space Mountain empties out into.
It will share a walkway with TRON Coaster which means that the outside of the building (in what was previously an unseen area) is now getting a bit of a visitor-friendly upgrade.
The shop is still open as usual however!
Those visiting Tomorrowland should hope on the PeopleMover for the best views of the TRON Coaster construction site.
Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for further Walt Disney World news and updates. We’ll be coming to you LIVE! from the theme parks each and every week.
