Oh Look! The Italy Booth Disappointed Us AGAIN at EPCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival
It’s the first day of the best EPCOT festival of the year — Flower & Garden Festival! Okay, that might just be my personal opinion making me a tad biased.
But, there are a lot of awesome things about this festival, from the topiaries to the gardens to the food. And now, it’s time to try some more new food items! Let’s go.
Primavera Kitchen
Primavera Kitchen is located in the Italy Pavilion. This booth is usually kind of disappointing, so let’s see how this goes.
This booth has a whole new food menu this year, which is almost always the case with the Italy booth location for every festival. Here’s to hoping it’s an improvement!
First up, we got the new Bocconcini. This is mozzarella bocconcini, grape tomatoes, and pesto sauce for $7.50. Bocconcini are those little mozzarella balls, by the way!
This was pretty good, but nothing special — it’s just mozzarella, tomatoes, and pesto. It’s not bad by any means, just maybe not worth spending $7.50 on.
The little flower pot it comes inside of is cute, though, so it will make for a fun picture!
Next, we got the new Arrabbiata for $9.25. This is pennette pasta, spicy tomato sauce, and buttery shrimp.
This dish was pretty disappointing. It tastes like frozen pasta that just had sauce thrown on it. The shrimp was chewy and tasted frozen as well.
Time for another pasta! This is the new Quattro Formaggi, which is pennette pasta and four-cheese sauce for $6.75.
Unfortunately, this pasta was bad as well. It once again tasted frozen, and we’re not talking about like the frozen pastas you get from Trader Joe’s (which are usually delicious). We’re talking about sad, back of the freezer aisle at your local chain grocery store, frozen pasta.
Why the country most known for great pasta can’t manage to produce a decent version for the EPCOT festivals, we’ll never know.
Finally, we got the new Chocolate Cannoli for $5.75. This is a chocolate-covered cannoli shell with peanut butter-ricotta filling.
This absolutely redeems this booth a little bit! The cannoli is delicious and one of our favorite things we’ve had so far at the festival. It tastes like a slice of peanut butter pie! Get this for sure.
All of the drinks here are returning and pretty much staples of this booth for all of the festivals. You can get a Peroni Pilsner for $6.50 (6 oz) or $11 (12 oz), Sauvignon Blanc for $14, Prosecco for $11.75, Italian Sangria (in red or white) for $12, or an Italian Margarita with limoncello and tequila for $12.
Overall, just go here for than cannoli. Everything else is pretty much a skip, unless you like REALLY want a Caprese salad in a flower pot.
