These Underwater Christmas Decorations Are a Sight to “Sea” at EPCOT!
It’s fair to say that nowhere celebrates the holidays quite like EPCOT.
From the gorgeous décor to the majesty of the Candlelight Processional, not to mention all the food, drinks, and merriment that accompany the annual International Festival of the Holidays…. no halls are left un-decked here.
In fact what guests may not realize is that the festive spirit really does reach every corner or EPCOT… even those you might not think.
Don’t believe us? Well, take a trip into the big blue world with us, and let’s head on into The Seas!
Our favorite entrance to this World Nature pavilion is by clam shell, aboard the ever-adorable “The Seas With Nemo & Friends” attraction!
Once you’re inside the aquarium, it becomes clear that the festive spirit really has swept through every last neighborhood here in the park.
@mickeyblog_ This is SO ADORABLE!❤️🎄🎅🏻✨ Head over to the seas with nemo and friends to spot these fish tanks decorated for the holidays!✨ @Disney Parks #disneyparks #waltdisneyworld #disneyworld #disneytiktok #christmas2023 #disneychristmas #epcot #epcotchristmas #epcotfestivals ♬ original sound – Sun and Cheese
Just take a look…
Yep, it looks like Nemo and all his fellow fishies have hung their tidings for the holidays, as each tank is now sporting the cutest Christmas decorations!
As if these tanks weren’t magical enough already, they are now beautifully decked out with all kinds of Christmassy designs, making them cozier than ever before.
We can see trees, gingerbread houses, candy canes, gifts, and more – proving that these fish really do know how to host a homely Christmas under the sea!
The best thing about this update is that each of the decorations are fish-friendly, meaning the inhabitants of each tank can enjoy their holidays with a fun bit of extra enrichment in their environments.
Just look at the ingenuity behind these little mesh “presents,” that use simple zip ties to resemble a pretty bow!
There’s even mini Santa hats to be spotted dotted about the coral and anemones, re-affirming this small-yet-sweet overlay as a MickeyBlog favorite this Christmas!
Just look at these merry little seahorses, twirling around by their own private candy cane patch.
So sweet!
I looks like they’ve even had some snow over in this tank!
Of all the teeny tank displays, our favorite has to be this adorable miniature “gingerbread house” village.
There’s four tiny houses for the aquatic animals to hide in here – with some even bearing mini, underwater hidden Mickeys for guests to spot. Aren’t they cool?
If you peer closely between the chimneys, you’ll see the tiniest little signpost, reading “Christmas Cuttlefish Village.”
The date “est. 2014” is printed underneath, proving this wholesome tradition is entering its ninth year here at EPCOT!
Who knew cuttlefish did Christmas quite so well?
Other cute tank displays include the baubles…
…adding some shimmer to the shrimp.
And this jolly-looking snowman…
…who appears to have been built by this handsome starfish!
If you didn’t realise that aquariums celebrated Christmas in such style, prepare for this:
They also celebrate Hanukkah, too!
What a magical marine menorah.
Over here near this cute fireplace display, we can even see a mini figure of Santa trying to crawl down the chimney.
We sure hope he’s got his diving gear on!
Next time you’re visiting EPCOT during the holiday season, be sure to take a dive into The Seas to explore this most magical underwater display of festive cheer.
There’s no better place to share “Merry Christmas” wishes with fishes!
