Our Guide To the Best Days to Visit Each Disney World Theme Park
If you’re in the process of planning a Disney World getaway then you know a little forward planning goes a long way! With Disney’s NEW park pass system now in place it is now necessary to plot out your theme park days WELL IN ADVANCE. With that in mind, we’ve come up with some suggestions on the best theme parks to visit each day which might just help!
We firmly believe that you can visit ANY Disney World theme park on ANY day and still have an awesome time. However, in all of our experience, some days are better than others. With that in mind, we thought we’d run over some of our preferences!
Magic Kingdom
No matter how many new lands and attractions spring up at the other parks, Magic Kingdom will always remain the quintessential Disney theme park and the one that most guests want to visit first. For that reason, the busiest days to visit the park are usually Mondays and Fridays to coincide with check-in dates. Saturdays are also busy for locals popping to the parks over the weekend! For those looking for lower Magic Kingdom crowds, I always find Tuesdays and Thursdays to be the best option.
Of course, it also pays to pay attention to National Holidays like Memorial Day, Labor Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, 4th of July etc. Guests opting to take advantage of holidays will almost always head to Magic Kingdom first meaning surges in crowd levels!

Hollywood Studios
Between the opening of Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land, Hollywood Studios is definitely having a bit of a renaissance. Where once, dealing with large crowds wasn’t much of an issue- these days a bit of strategizing can help! My general rule is to stay away from Hollywood Studios on the weekends. The park is currently pretty popular with locals looking to explore the new attractions. Weekdays are always a good option for Hollywood Studios I’ve had a lot of luck visiting earlier in the week especially Mondays as guests that checked in on Sunday usually head to the Magic Kingdom first!
Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom has long been one of my favorite theme parks, and with Flight of Passage being most guests favorite Disney World ride, this theme park does have larger crowds than it used to! On top of that, with the layout of the park and the surge of visitors in the morning heading to Pandora, the park can feel pretty jam-packed most days. I generally head to Animal Kingdom on the days I know all the crowds will be at Magic Kingdom. My preferred days to visit are Mondays and Fridays with Wednesdays being a close third. If you’re travelling during an off-peak season when Extra Magic Hours only happen on select mornings, I’d give those mornings a miss and head to Animal Kingdom one of the other days of the week!
Epcot
With the massive size of both Future World and The World Showcase, Epcot tends to absorb crowds really well making even slightly busier days not as stressful as at the other parks. However, for those looking to visit during days where crowds are at their lowest my advice is to avoid Tuesday and Thursdays. These are the usual days that Epcot offers Early Morning Magic Hours making them the most popular dates to visit! Also for those visiting Epcot during one of the park’s four festivals (Festival of the Arts, Flower and Garden, Food and Wine and Festival of the Holidays) the weekends can get crazy with local crowds. This makes Mondays and Wednesdays perfect Epcot days!
