6 Amazing Reasons to Visit New World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disney
World of Frozen is officially opening at Hong Kong Disneyland on November 20, 2023. This new area of the theme park has the distinction of being the world’s first “Frozen”-themed land allowing guests to step into Arendelle and experience the characters, music, and ambiance of the movie like never before.
1. Step into Arendelle
Check out these stunning images of Arendelle! Visitors to Hong Kong Disneyland will be able to step into Queen Anna and Queen Elsa’s quaint village. Guests will be fully immersed in scenes right out of the beloved films Frozen and Frozen 2. No detail has been overlooked. You’ll see the fishing boat Anna fell into when meeting Prince Hanns and the Clock Tower they danced around that evening.
Also, be on the lookout for signs of Elsa’s magical powers including the Friendship Fountain which has been frozen and now sports beautiful snowflake ornamentations.
2. An Introduction to Nordic Culture
The moment you step into the World of Frozen you’ll be surrounded by stunning scenery, incredible architecture, Nordic designs, clothing, and cuisine. Imagineers drew inspiration from Norway’s history and culture. A great example of this is the dragestil (dragon style) architectural style along with Balestrand’s asymmetrical architecture and rosemaling decorative artwork. You will feel like you’ve been immediately transported to the Scandinavian-inspired kingdom from the film.
3. A One-Of-A-Kind Experience
One of the most breathtaking features of the World of Frozen is how the scenery of Lantau Island is seamlessly incorporated into the design.
This includes the design of the North Mountain where Elsa would build her stunning ice palace.
All of these incredible details add to the immersive nature of this new Hong Kong Disneyland area.
4. Music Adds to the Immersion
It wouldn’t be a Frozen-themed land without music. Frozen films are known for their incredible songs like “Let It Go,” “For the First Time in Forever” and “Do You Wanna Build a Snowman.”
The team of Imagineers working on World of Frozen worked with award-winning composer, Andrew Cottee, rearranging many of the beloved songs from the franchise to bring an incredible soundtrack to the new land.
5. There’s Ice that Never Melts
It wouldn’t be Frozen without snow and ice. With this in mind, Imagineers for nearly three years meticulously recreated Elsa’s Ice Magic. This was no easy task as the team analyzed ice textures and colors. They also gave thought to how these related to Elsa’s emotions to accurately depict how her magical ice powers might come to life!
Through their research, Imagineers were able to recreate the frozen feeling of the village and Elsa’s Ice Palace.
6. State-of-the-Art Audio-Animatronics Figures
A high point of your visit to the World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland is Frozen Ever After. This attraction features Walt Disney Imagineering’s advanced, all-electric Audio-Animatronics figures. The technology will bring to life beloved characters like Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff in an unbelievable way. Get ready to be blown away.
