Mickey’s Mellerdrammer Released (1933)
On this day in 1933, the Mickey Mouse short Mickey’s Mellerdrammer was released.

Disneyland Hotel Groundbreaking Held (1955)
On this day in 1955, a ground breaking ceremony took place in Anaheim California for the Disneyland Hotel.

Among those in attendance were Roy Disney, Disneyland vice-president C.V. Wood, and Anaheim Mayor Charles Pearson.
Pirates of the Caribbean Opens in Disneyland (1967)
On this day in 1967, Pirates of the Caribbean opened in New Orleans Square.
The classic Disneyland attraction tells a morality tale of a group of pirates who ransack a town but are captured after getting too drunk.
Alley Cats Strike! Released (2000)
On this day in 2000, the Disney Channel original movie Alley Cats Strike! was released.

On this day in 2001, the first ever digitally transmitted feature film premiere took place at Disney’s California Adventure for Spy Kids.

Finally, on this day in 2018, animator John Musker retired.

Musker is best remembered for his work with Ron Clements where he co-wrote and directed seven films including The Little Mermaid Aladdin and Moana.
