Amazing New Spaceship Earth Artwork Comes to the Art of Disney
If there is one store that always manages to truly amaze me, it is the Art of Disney store over at EPCOT. From paintings, to sketches, to glazed figures, this shop has the greatest collection of Disney art in the world.
A lot of time when I find myself perusing the gallery I am stunned by the amount of amazing selections, and unique designs. Today when visiting the shop over in the American Adventure pavilion, I think we may have found one of the greatest pieces of all time.
Behold- Traveling Thru Past, Present and Future World by Dave Perillo.
I absolutely LOVE this celebration of Spaceship Earth. Lets take a closer look at the different scenes depicted.
In the bottom left corner of the poster, we have two cavemen from the attraction’s first scene. The cave paintings that come to life on the ride make for a really fun background Easter Egg.
Moving counter-clockwise, we have two Romans meeting and exchanging information. After all, “North, South, East, or West, all roads lead from Rome!”
In the top right corner of the sphere we have computer technician working with the industrial computers of the 1950s and 60s. If you look closely, on her desk you may be able to spot a hidden Mickey!
Finally, in the top left of Spaceship Earth, we have everybody’s favorite sleeping monk. This Benedictine, has been toiling endlessly recording books by hand!
In addition to he vignette’s depicted in the middle of the poster I absolutely love the people sitting in the attraction’s ride vehicles below and the 80s-tastic Spaceship Earth logo at the top!
If you are a Spaceship Earth fan, this would be an absolutely killer piece to add to your collection. According to the plaque beneath the poster there are only 93 of these available. If you plan on trying to snag one get it while you can! Swing by the Art of Disney shop today!
