Pixar Animator Ralph Eggleston has passed Away at the Age of 56
It is with a very heavy heart that we here at MickeyBlog share the news that Oscar-winning director and Pixar Animator Ralph Eggleston has passed away at the age of 56 from pancreatic cancer.
Eggleston is best known as the director of the shirt film For the Birds for which he won an Academy Award. Eggleston also won an Annie Award as the director of the original Toy Story and he went on to serve as art director for numerous Pixar titles including Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, Wall-E and Inside Out. According to a recent piece on Comicbook.com Eggleston’s final credit with Pixar was for the 2020 film Soul.
Eggleston came on board with Pixar back in 1992 and left his mark on almost every project that passed through the beloved studio. Before making the move to Pixar, Eggleston worked for Warner Brothers and Amblin/Universal on projects ranging from Ferngully to Rugrats and Scooby-Doo
In addition to winning his first Annie Award for best Individual Achievement: Productions Design for Toy Story, Eggleston would go one to win three additional Annie’s including Outstanding Production Design for Finding Nemo, Outstanding Achievement in Production Design for Inside Out and the Winsor McCay lifetime achievement award in 2016.
