Check Out the Playful “Toy Story Splash Zone” Aboard the Disney Wish!
It’s day three of MickeyBlog’s coverage of the incredible new Disney Wish! Can you believe there’s still more left to discover on board? Up until now, we’ve shown you iconic restaurants, dreamy shopping, and some of the most breathtaking staterooms you ever did see.
In fact, you could say that the Disney Cruise Imagineers went to infinity and beyond when designing this ship!
Which brings us to our next adventure! This morning, we’re up on Deck 12, where the Toy Story Splash Zone is calling to be explored!
Now, we should note that this fun, kids-only, Toy Story-inspired play area is currently closed to guests. However, MickeyBloggers Greg and Elyssa were able to check out the colorful zone, and get a first-look for our readers!
Of course, before we go in, we must make sure to read these all-important rules. As you can see from the sign, this splash zone is not manned by a lifeguard, and only those under six years old are permitted to play in the area, provided they have adult supervision.
As we go in, we can see that it is super-colorful inside!
With a big “Toy Story Splash Zone” banner and some iconic characters on a wall decorated to look like Andy’s bedroom wallpaper, it almost feels like we have stepped right back into Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The floor in this wet-play zone is designed to have a wavy, water-like effect, dotted with lots of bubble-like jets!
I love this funky, mounted statue design of Bo Peep’s flock!
Speaking of Bo Peep – how adorable does she look here? Across the splash zone, there are various statues of Toy Story characters, some of which may even shoot jets of water at passers-by!
Oooo there’s a green alien!
And Bullseye, whose smile kind of reminds me of the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland!
The Bullseye statue is located over by a fun, mini slide, which is themed around Woody’s Roundup.
The slide is a good size for kiddos, with a soft landing at the bottom!
A second slide is tucked away on the other side of the Splash Zone, too. This one is shaped like a rocket, and inspired by everyone’s favorite intergalactic pizza outpost… Pizza Planet!
We absolutely love the color and vivid theming in this fun kiddie-area aboard the Disney Wish. Did you know, Imagineers actually shared a sneak preview of this area back in March 2021? If you can’t remember – you can read about it here!
As well as the slides and water jets, there are some other fun play elements included in the Splash Zone, too, such as this fun maze board!
This is giving me serious Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin vibes, as if it has come straight from Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom!
Here is a water jet inspired by the Evil Emperor Zurg.
I love this so much that I’d now quite like a giant Zurg jet in my garden, watering my plants! I did scour through the images Greg and Elyssa sent of the merchandise aboard the Wish, and they unfortunately don’t seem to have any in stock.
Here’s a jet statue inspired by Woody. I’m not too sure what to make of this one, but just wait until you see Jessie!
Perhaps not quite as cute as the Bo Peep statue behind her, but still colorful and cool!
We’re heading out of the Toy Story Splash Zone now, as it’s time to find out where these intruging giant dinosaur footsteps lead to!
Awesome! It’s the Slide-a-Saurus Rex!
This fun waterslide attraction is themed to the Partysaurus Rex episode of the Toy Story Toons short films. With his Viking helmet and loud accessories, this Rex statue looks like he’s ready to bring all the party vibes!
As you can see, this waterslide is also out of operation at the moment. However, we got a good look at it, and it sure does look like fun!
There’s a 38-inch height requirement to the Slide-a-Saurus Rex attraction, which has two loopy-circles and is a bright yellow in color.
If you’re a waterslide fan, you must check out the epic AquaMouse slide that’s also on the Disney Wish – it’s a lot of fun!
We hope you’ve enjoyed splashing your way to infinity and beyond on this quick tour of the Toy Story Splash Zone!
As always, make sure you stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com to enjoy the inaugural sailing of the Disney Wish with us, and explore all of the amazing attractions aboard this incredible new ship!
