Flowers Tarped at Hollywood Studios in Prep for Frost
The Horticulture Team at Walt Disney World Resort has been busy with a very rare task today: preparing the Resort’s flowers for tonight’s frost.
Since last evening, we’ve spotted several landscaped areas tarped over to protect the delicate flowers and plants that make WDW look so beautiful year round.
We spotted tarps firmly in place on the flower beds between the Chinese Theatre and ABC Commissary. They aren’t just any old sheets of plastic, the tarps are actually very thick and were made with the purpose of protecting flowers.
You’ll see leafy plants and other foliage has been left uncovered- and that’s completely ok for those plants that lack a flower! The flowering portion of any plant cannot withstand temperatures that drop below freezing- especially those used to soaking up the hot Florida sun.
You’ll spot tarps covering all flower beds across WDW Property today- so if you spot any leave me a photo in the comments and tell me where you saw it!
