Biometric Scanners Are Back at EPCOT
More and more during our almost daily Walt Disney World visits we are starting to see Disney bringing back a lot of policies and procedures that the parks needed to put on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A great case in point are biometric scanners.
For anyone that’s been to Walt Disney World before you’ll remember that in order to get into the theme parks you are asked to link a fingerprint which then must be matched up during each theme park visit.
This is how Disney keeps tabs on whether or not you are using tickets or annual passes!
The happens at the same time that guests scan their MagicBands or tickets.
To combat the spread of COVID, Disney World opted not to use these scanners when the theme parks reopened last Summer.
However, with capacity raised, social distancing done away with and mask policies eased, Disney thought it was time to bring back the scanners.
Earlier today our MickeyBlogger Madeline reported that the biometric check points are now back in place at Magic Kingdom.
We can now officially report that the same is happening at EPCOT. These pictures were taken from our visit yesterday.
We suspect that over the next week Disney World will continue to unveil them across all theme park entrances. This is a story that we’ll continue to follow closely. Readers are encouraged to check back with us for further Walt Disney World news and updates!
