Four New Projects Announced For Hulu and ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Gets Fifth Season
Today is Disney’s Investor’s Day and we are getting all sorts of awesome TV news! Among the announcements are a handful of incredible shows coming to Hulu in the year head. Though Disney isn’t revealing too much about these projects we do know the four titles that you’ll definitely want to be on the lookout for.

First up is a brand new series that reunites SNL alumni Steve Martin and Martin Short along with Selena Gomez called Only Murderers in the Building. The comedy surrounds three strangers who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a murder occurs in their NYC apartment building, they are forced to work together to figure out what happened.

Then it’s on to a brand series about Elizabeth Holmes titled The Dropout. According to Variety, Emmy-winning Saturday Night Live star McKinnon will play the disgraced wunderkind entrepreneur Holmes and will executive produce the limited drama series, whose length is expected to be between 6-10 episodes. McKinnon will executive produce The Dropout with podcast host /creator Rebecca Jarvis, who is ABC News chief business, technology and economics correspondent. The podcast’s producers Taylor Dunn and Victoria Thompson also serve as executive producers on the series.

Next up is a new drama series called Dopesick about the American drug epidemic. Hulu has assembled an all-star cast that includes Michael Keaton, Peter Sarsgaard and Rosario Dawson. The 8 episode series will be based on Beth Macy’s bestselling book. Barry Barry Levinson is set to direct. Dopesick is described as an ambitious, harrowing, and compelling look into the epicenter of America’s struggle with Opioid addiction. It takes viewers from a distressed Virginia mining community, to the hallways of the DEA, and to the opulence of “one percenter” Big Pharma Manhattan. The unsparing yet deeply human portraits of the various affected families and their intersecting stories hold up a mirror to where America is right now, while shining a hopeful light on the heroes battling the worst drug epidemic in American history.

Last but not least, David E Kelly brings us 9-Perfect Strangers a miniseries based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty. The book is set at a wellness retreat and is inspired by the desire we all have for transformation. The cast for the show includes Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Luke Evans, Michael Shannon, Regina Hall, and Manny Jacinto.
The Handmaid’s Tale Get’s a 5th Season
In addition to the four incredible series announced above, we can also confirm that during the Investors Day broadcast, Hulu announced they have just ordered a 5th season of the Emmy Award-winning show The Handmaids Tale staring Elisabeth Moss!
