FOX35 Visits Flavor Lab to Celebrate 50th
With the wealth of new culinary options popping up across the Walt Disney World Resort recently, it certainly makes perfect sense why FOX 35 popped by the Flavor Lab this week. The top-secret test kitchens hosted the local news agency for a piece next week celebrating the Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary on October 1st.

A Peak inside Disney’s Lab of Flavor
The Flavor Lab has been hard at work dreaming up sweet treats and savory delights for exclusive 50th anniversary events. Key new events include EPCOT Harmonious fireworks packages and a number of Magic Kingdom dessert parties. The ultimate dining experience for the anniversary began booking yesterday. For this event, guests experience a throwback dining occasion celebrating the 50th anniversary of Disney’s Contemporary Resort at its culinary epicenter, California Grill.

The Flavor Lab team is responsible not only for imagining the unique food and beverage throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. They are also tasked with executing menus for the vast majority of Disney parks and resorts. Often years in the making, the food and beverage experts here develop menus from new restaurant concepts to thematically brilliant treats like those at Pandora: The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Flavor lab’s Culinary Imagineers
With such an incredible role to play in parks worldwide, it makes perfect sense that the team has long been dubbed “culinary imagineers.” Now-Walt Disney Company Culinary Director Lenny DeGeorge even used the term in a 2018 Food & Wine magazine interivew.

“We’ll show you inside and hear from the chefs next week on @fox35orlando as we celebrate Disney’s 50th anniversary,” anchor Ryan Elijah posted on his Twitter feed yesterday.
We certainly can’t wait to watch the piece as the team gives us a glimpse into the latest eats, drinks, and creations coming out of the innovative Flavor Lab.
