We Tried the New Offerings at Carthay Circle Restaurant at California Adventure
A vibrant Golden Age movie palace offering sophisticated cuisine and delicious retro cocktails? Count us in!
We recently visited Cathay Circle Restaurant at California Adventure to sample the new seasonal offerings on the menu, and it did not disappoint.
Located on Buena Vista Street, this dining hot spot has not offered lunch since before the pandemic.
Now, you can stop in, relax, and enjoy a delicious lunch menu from Friday to Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Seasonal Menu
While Carthay Circle has been offering dinner nightly from 4pm to 8pm, the seasonal lunch offering has just recently returned.
We love the ambiance of this glamorous location. The old Hollywood decor and art are great, and the new offerings are delicious.
It is a Prix-Fixe menu of $59 for adults and $19 per child (plus tax). Guests choose one starter and one main course to enjoy!
We started our meal with the Fresh Green Falafel Fritters, and they were very delicious.
They are served with a spicy roasted pepper lemon yogurt sauce, which goes well and enhances the flavor. The spice level was on the mild side, making this a great starter for everyone to enjoy.
We also tried the Carthay Greek Salad, which was served with fresh, juicy tomatoes, cucumbers, feta hummus, and a 25-year-old Sherry vinegar.
The salad was light and flavorful, but the hummus made the salad amazing.
You have four choices for the main entree, and we tried the Ginger and Soy-Glazed Tri Tip. It is served with chilled soba noodles, Taki mushrooms, and macadamia nut furikake.
It was very tender and perfectly cooked. We really enjoyed the soy glaze, which adds a lot of flavor to this dish.
We also indulged in the Rigatoni Pasta Carbonara with prosciutto, English peas, wild mushrooms, corn, and Grana Padano Parmigianino.
The creamy carbonara sauce was amazing, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. The prosciutto and corn enhance the overall flavors of this dish.
Overall Thoughts
We highly recommend the new seasonal offerings at Carthay Circle Restaurant. Even with only a starter and a main entree, the food was still very filling, and we were more than satisfied.
Great customer service enhances the dining experience, and even the executive chef came out to answer any questions about the new menu.
