Walt Disney World Wait Times for First Week of June 2024
June has arrived, and most schools have ended for the year.
The ones that haven’t are either year-round institutions or in their final days for the 2023-2024 school year.
With so many families suddenly possessing free time, the rush to Disney theme parks has begun.
How much did the start of the unofficial family travel tourism season impact Disney crowds? Let’s find out!
Here are Walt Disney World’s wait times for the first full week of June 2024.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
We’re still in wait-and-see mode at Animal Kingdom. Disney has told us that the Tropical Americas update is coming soon.
However, DinoLand U.S.A. remains open with all its attractions still hosting guests.
Until that themed land closes, nothing will change at Animal Kingdom.
After that, the various wait times will increase, though. That’ll happen because guests will have fewer attraction options.
For now, status quo continues at the park, meaning that guests flock to Pandora – The World of Avatar.
Once that’s done, everyone plays with the animals and has the time of their lives.
Here are Animal Kingdom’s average wait times this past week:
- Avatar Flight of Passage – 85 minutes, down 6
- Na’vi River Journey – 60 minutes, no change
- Kali River Rapids – 55 minutes, up 1
- Adventurers Outpost – 45 minutes, up 1
- Expedition Everest – 44 minutes, down 4
- Kilimanjaro Safaris – 30 minutes, down 2
- DINOSAUR – 27 minutes, down 4
- It’s Tough to Be a Bug! – 10 minutes, down 5
- TriceraTop Spin – 9 minutes, down 1
Overall, Animal Kingdom guests stood in line for an average of 40 minutes, three minutes less than last time.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
At Hollywood Studios, we recently learned that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will return in six weeks.
When that happens, some of these wait times will drop a bit for the same reason I just mentioned.
With more attractions available, wait times decrease. When fewer attractions are operational, the wait times increase.
As I’ll discuss in an upcoming article, Hollywood Studios features the fewest attractions of any American Disney park.
Not coincidentally, the crowds at this park grow intense during popular times on the annual calendar…like summer.
So, let’s examine the average wait times at Hollywood Studios last week:
- Slinky Dog Dash – 82 minutes, down 9
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – 69 minutes, down 10
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – 57 minutes, down 14
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway – 54 minutes, down 6
- Toy Story Mania! – 49 minutes, down 10
- Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – 48 minutes, down 6
- Red Carpet Dreams – 37 minutes, down 2
- Alien Swirling Saucers – 36 minutes, down 5
- Celebrity Spotlight – 20 minutes, up 2
- Star Tours – The Adventures Continue – 19 minutes, down 2
- Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy – 15 minutes, no change
- Muppet*Vision 3D – 10 minutes, no change
Overall, the average Hollywood Studios attraction required a wait of 39 minutes, which is three minutes less than last time.
EPCOT
Okay, we are quantifiably trending down from last week. In fact, I keep looking for crowds that haven’t materialized yet.
The last three years of late May and June crowds have been intense. We’re not tracking that thus far in 2024.
However, the second half of June has grown much more crowded, and we’re not there yet.
At EPCOT, we finally have some excitement — CommuniCore Hall & Plaza officially opened on June 10th.
From that point forward, you’ll find new character encounters and shows as a permanent part of the park.
How will that impact the crowds? We’ll find out starting next week.
So, you can think of this week’s wait times as the calm before the storm. Here are EPCOT’s average waits:
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure – 66 minutes, down 6
- Frozen Ever After – 60 minutes, down 5
- Test Track – 57 minutes, down 8
- Mission: SPACE – 49 minutes, down 3
- Soarin’ Around the World – 45 minutes, down 4
- Royal Sommerhus – 39 minutes, up 3
- Spaceship Earth – 22 minutes, up 1
- Turtle Talk with Crush – 20 minutes, up 1
- Journey into Imagination with Figment – 18 minutes, no change
- The Seas with Nemo & Friends – 16 minutes, down 1
- Living with the Land – 15 minutes, no change
- Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros – 13 minutes, up 1
Overall, EPCOT attractions averaged a wait of 34 minutes, which is two minutes less than last time.
Magic Kingdom
The trend is clear at the other three parks. But how were the crowds at Magic Kingdom? Let’s check the average wait times:
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – 64 minutes, down 9
- Peter Pan’s Flight – 56 minutes, down 3
- Jungle Cruise – 48 minutes, down 4
- Space Mountain – 47 minutes, down 7

- Walt Disney World Railroad – 9 minutes, down 5
- Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress – 5 minutes, no change
Final Thoughts
Overall, Magic Kingdom guests waited for an average of 27 minutes per attraction, which is three minutes less than last time.
To a larger point, that’s a reasonable wait time at any point on the annual calendar, much less in June.
So yeah, the crowds dropped a bit this week compared to last time.
All four parks decreased their average wait times, with only a handful of attractions requiring longer waits.
For this time of year, that’s remarkable. Does it hint at a slower summer at Walt Disney World? We’ll find out soon…
