Disney Cruise Line’s Conservation & Sustainability Efforts at Lookout Cay
We recently got to visit Disney Cruise Line’s new island getaway — Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point! We got to take a first look at the entertainment, food, merchandise, and more.
And now, Disney has shared some of the ways they’re being environmentally conscious at the new destination.
Wildlife Conservation & Sustainability at Lookout Cay
Disney shared some of the ways they’re protecting the natural environment at Lookout Cay. They’re committed to having as little impact on the environment as possible.

They said they developed less than 16% of Lookout Cay, leaving the majority of the land in its natural state. Throughout the island destination, there are sustainable designs and buildings like elevated walkways and an open-trestle pier.

Disney also committed to sending zero waste to landfills and 90% of the destination’s energy demand will be from renewable sources.
“Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is full of unique native animal and plant species, and I am proud of our conservation team who have been working for many years to help create this magical cruise destination where nature can continue to thrive,” said Dr. Mark Penning, Vice President of Disney’s Animals, Science, and Environment.
He says that “Lookout Cay is another example of how Disney is taking meaningful and measurable action to protect nature and support a healthier planet for people and wildlife.”
