The Walt Disney Company Is Pulling Out All the Stops Ahead of The 2024 Academy Awards
The Walt Disney Company is pulling out all the stops before Sunday night’s Oscar Awards.
This year’s partnerships include an Oscars Pick ‘Em game sponsored by ESPN, unique desserts inside Disney Parks, and Academy Awards-themed marathons on FX, Freeform, and Nat Geo.
“It’s pretty remarkable to see how our great partners across The Walt Disney Company support the Oscars, and we are so proud of all that we’ve been able to deliver leading into this weekend’s show,” said Shannon Ryan, president of marketing, Disney Entertainment Television.
“The Oscars mark a life-changing moment for those nominated, and we pull out all the stops to reach the broadest possible audience to tune in and celebrate. From photo moments and themed food items at the parks to movie marathons across our channels and Oscar-winning film collections on our streaming platforms — not to mention screenings at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood — we are once again pulling every synergy lever available to help amplify the Oscars across the company.”
Oscar Theming Comes to the El Capitan and Disney Parks
In the lead-up to this year’s Academy Awards, the Disney-owned El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood is hosting screenings of Oscar-winning Disney movies.
Over at Disney Springs, a new Oscar-themed photo-op has arrived!
Meanwhile, over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, new Oscar-themed desserts, including toffee and a coconut blondie, will be sold at the ABC Commissary.
Oscars Pick ‘Em Game With ESPN
The Oscars Pick ‘Em Game, created in conjunction with ESPN, will allow players to pick who they think will win the Oscars in each of the 23 categories. The ESPN Fantasy App will serve as a “second screen” during the awards.
Oscar statues are also scheduled to be placed on the set of SportsCenter LA and NBA Today.
Streaming
On streaming, both Hulu and Disney+ will showcase their Academy Award-winning and Oscar-nominated leading up to the awards.
The 96th Academy Awards are scheduled for this Sunday, March 10, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. The awards will be broadcast on ABC beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
