Happy 92nd Birthday to Legendary Composer John Williams
Happy Birthday John Williams! The American composer and legendary conductor is celebrating his 92nd birthday today, and fans around the world are joining in with well wishes and celebration.

Williams has created some of the most iconic film scores of all time and is a celebrated musical icon.
Symphonies and Soundtracks
Williams was born and raised in New York and the son of a percussionist in the CBS radio orchestra. He was exposed early on to music and studied piano, trumpet, trombone, and clarinet.
In 1948, Williams moved to Los Angeles with his family, where he studied composition at the University of California, Los Angeles.
After serving in the air force, Williams briefly studied piano at Juilliard School of Music and worked as a jazz pianist in New York City.
Williams later returned to California working as a Hollywood studio pianist, began composing for television, and scored more than a hundred films, including the Poseidon Adventure, Jaws, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and more
In addition to his film work, Williams was a well known concert composer and conductor working with the Boston Pops. He retired in1993.
The Disney Connection
Williams is especially known for partnering with Disney and Lucasfilm and composing the scores for the Star Wars franchise and the Indiana Jones films.
On June 24, 2022, Williams announced that Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny would be his last piece. However, in early 2023, Williams changed his mind, stating “I can’t retire from music. A day without music is a mistake.”
