What to Expect at the Disneyland Resort for the Rest of January!
Now that the holidays have come and gone, what is there to do at the Disneyland Resort?! Well, if you’re looking to cure those post-holiday blues with a visit to the resort, you’re in luck because tons is going on!
This month, runDisney (finally) returned to the resort, and a few attractions–like Grizzly River Run and “it’s a small world”–have closed for refurbishments. But the changes don’t stop there–there are still events, experiences, and reopenings to look forward to in January! So let’s dive into everything you can expect at the Disneyland Resort for the rest of January.
Lunar New Year Celebration
Lunar New Year will be celebrated in Disney California Adventure (DCA) from January 23rd through February 18th. The celebration will include marketplace kiosks offering Lunar New Year-inspired dishes…
…a Mulan-themed water show (Hurry Home – A Lunar New Year Celebration)…
…and Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession!
Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite
Disneyland After Dark will return this month, with the Sweethearts’ Nite events taking place on January 23rd, 25th, and 30th. So, if you’re visiting Disneyland Park on those days and don’t have an event ticket, you’ll have to leave the park at 8PM.
Disney’s Pixar Place Hotel
Disney’s Pixar Place Hotel will finally open on January 30th! The Pixar-themed hotel will replace Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, aligning with the shift of theming in DCA!
Reopenings
There are still some more reopenings to look forward to this month! Blue Bayou reopens on January 20th…
…and “it’s a small world” reopens on January 19th (which is transforming back from its holiday overlay).
Closures
Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind closes on January 22nd…
…and Haunted Mansion goes down on January 22nd to transform back from its holiday version and complete the retail shop expansion!
Haunted Mansion, Astro Orbiter, Mark Twain Riverboat, Grizzly River Run, and Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind are currently scheduled to remain closed for the rest of the month.
That’s everything you can expect for the rest of January in Disneyland Resort! And we’ll keep updating you with the latest happening around the parks, so stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com.
