Authorities Are Still Searching For Former Disney Employee Brian Klecha 5 Years After His Disappearance

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is still searching for a Polk County man and former Disney employee who went missing in 2017.

Brian Edward Klecha disappeared on December 27, 2017, Klecha, who was 35 at the time, was last seen making a banking transaction at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union in Auburndale.

On February 11, 2018, Klecha’s Jeep was found abandoned on State Road 618 at the Moran Street exit in Tampa. According to law enforcement, the car may have been left after an accident days prior.

Police Beleive Klecha Did Not Disappear On His Own

FDLE agents believe that Klecha did not disappear on his own. Instead, they think he may have been a victim of domestic violence or drug abuse.

“Brian had a steady job, he had a good circle of friends…he loved his pets,” Florida Department of Law Enforcement Tampa Special Agent in Charge Mark Brutnell said. “And then after Dec. 27, 2017, all that changed. No one has heard or seen from him. His social media is nonexistent. His pets had been abandoned, his storage unit which had some of his belongings in it was auctioned off by the storage unit.

“And the most important aspect of that is his mother has not heard from her son in five years, that’s very concerning for us.”

In addition to Polk County, Klecha has ties with Orange and Hillsborough counties and worked at Walt Disney World.

Nothing Has Turned Up

While several leads have been tracked down over the past five years, nothing concrete has turned up. Police, however, are not giving up on the Air Force veteran.

“You just don’t vanish off the face of the Earth,” Brutnell said.

Klecha has been described as a white man with blonde hair and green eyes. He would now be 41 years old and stands about 6 feet tall.
