Construction Update: Work Continues on New DVC Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
With the holidays fast approaching, you might think construction on the new DVC tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort would see a slowdown.
But Disney magic knows no bounds! Construction crews are still hard at work this week as progress continues on the highly-anticipated new DVC tower.

Work Continues at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Last week, MickeyBlog reporters noticed that a first round of paint had been applied to the sides of the building’s exterior.
In a light shade of gray, we believed the paint was actually primer. Now, even more progress is visible to guests.

The new paint color is visible on several rooms and will likely represent the building’s final color scheme.
According to Disney’s concept art for the DVC tower, the finished product will include exterior shades of brown, tan, and cream.

The earthy color palette draws from the original design of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and will help the new building blend into the resort’s existing landscape.

The controversial project has been celebrated among many Disney fans, who look forward to new accommodations and amenities. Others have bemoaned the change to the area’s skyline.
Hopefully, the warm earth tones will create a cohesive look and vibe throughout the resort.
Progress Continues
Meanwhile, a rear view of the building offers a closer look at the current state of affairs.

As seen from the monorail, new sliding glass doors have been installed in many rooms. Others are still boarded over with plywood as they await installation.
