REVIEW: A Chocolate Reindeer & Festive Tamale from Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!
We just visited the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and there was all kinds of festive fun! From the entertainment to the merchandise to the characters, there is a lot to do.
One part of the party that’s pretty exciting is the exclusive food! So, come along with us to try out some of the options at a spot in Frontierland.
Chicken Tamale
This is the Chicken Tamale from Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe. It’s served “Christmas-style” with mild red chile and green chile-pumpkin seed sauces, cilantro rice, pinto beans, and queso fresco for $11.99.
This is only available during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
It looks pretty appetizing, let’s see how it tastes!
We though the tamale was on the smaller side, but it was seasoned pretty well. The outside also has a nice crisp to it.
The rice and beans are tasty too and they make this a pretty filling dish!
We do wish there was a little more of the sauces though, because that’s where most of the flavor is.
However, we did enjoy this and we’d get it again. It’s a good savory option at the party!
Chocolate Eggnog Reindeer
Next up, we have the new Chocolate Eggnog Reindeer, also from Pecos Bill’s! It’s a chocolate tart topped with eggnog mousse and chocolate antlers.
This is $6.29 and only available during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
Okay, how cute is this thing?! Let’s see how it tastes!
The top part is where the eggnog mousse is and you can definitely taste that flavor.
The bottom is a very rich chocolate, so it’s a big contrast to the eggnog. The tart crust has a great crumble to it as well.
If you really like eggnog and chocolate, you should like this! However, if you’re not a fan of eggnog, we wouldn’t pick this treat because it’s very strong in this treat.
