How Disney Aspire Helped One Cast Member Achieve His Dream
Following the fifth anniversary of the Disney Aspire program, which helps Cast Members achieve their educational dreams, the company is shedding light on some of the success stories that the program has produced.
One such example is Brett Crane. Brett is a show controls engineering intern at Walt Disney World, which is part of the global engineering and technology team.

Following His Dreams
From an early age, Brett knew that he wanted to work on thrill rides. His passion followed him throughout school, although it wasn’t until he joined the Disney Aspire program that he was able to finally graduate from Wilmington University. With his degree in hand, Brett was one step closer to achieving his dream of becoming an engineer.

“I wouldn’t be where I am today or as successful if it wasn’t for Disney Aspire and the support of my colleagues, friends, and family. I’m a huge advocate for the program and think everyone eligible to enroll should. It changed my life, and I know it can do the same for others,” Brett shared.
After getting his degree, Brett set out on an exciting new career path. He began a Disney Professional Internship with Disney’s facility and operations services team.
Investing In Cast Members
One of his many accomplishments while in the internship program was helping plan atttraction vehicle maintenance and track warehouse inventory for thousands of vehicle parts.

Not long after, Brett received an extended Disney Professional Internship offer with the global engineering and technology team Now, he helps develop and maintain new software that standardizes the connections used inside Audio-Animatronics.
“Disney Aspire has given me the confidence, ability, and skill to work as an engineer on Disney technology and animatronics,” Brett said. “I feel very proud of the work I’ve accomplished and am grateful that Disney has given me the opportunity to continue to learn and grow from so many experienced cast members in this field, it’s been a dream come true!”

Brett is just one of the thousands of Disney Cast Members who have been aided in their dreams by the Disney Aspire Program. Nearly 4,000 employees have graduated, and 3,000 students have been promoted within The Walt Disney Company since the program began.
