Raglan Road’s Great Irish Hooley Returns To Disney Springs Next Week
We’re mere days away from the return of Raglan Road’s beloved Great Irish Hooley which is returning to Disney Springs for its 11th year from September 1- 4. For those unfamiliar, Hooley is a Gaelic term for a lively party and that’s exactly what you’ll experience with four days of lively party music, entertainment, and fun.
Here are five reasons why this year’s Great Irish Hooley at Raglan Road is simply not to be missed!
1. Entertainment from the Emerald Isle
Highlights of this year’s entertainment schedule include singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Sina Tell. She was named a Rising Star of 2022 at the American Celtic Listener Supported Music Awards.
Also bringing the entertainment to this year’s Hooley are:
- Strings & Things – a fan-favorite Irish folk four-piece
- The Connemara Ramblers – a duo with fresh sounds
- One for the Foxes – a transatlantic trio mixing Irish and American backgrounds.
- Oliver Havlin – from County Down, Ireland plays guitar, fiddle, and vocals.
- Byrne Brother – will be entertaining guests during the always popular Rollicking Raglan Brunch happening this weekend.
2. New Libations
During this year’s Hooley, Raglan Road will debut their new “Stars & Hearts” Keeper’s Heart Whiskey flight. This is an Irish-American collaboration where the whiskey is aged in stout barrels. To celebrate the bartenders at Raglan Road will be whipping up some new cocktails for the festival including “Heart of the Hooley” which is made with Keeper’s Heart Irish Bourbon and blackberry and mint scrub.
3. Delectable Irish Fare
In addition to the awesome entertainment and new drink options, guests to the Great Irish Hooley at Raglan Road will also be able to enjoy classics like Fish & Chips and Shepherd’s to Die for Pie. There are also some new additions to the menu that you’ll want to sample like the Crispy Cream Goats Cheese Salad, Guinness & Onion Soup, and the Sea Board – a sharing board for two with an array of savory seafood bites.
Also for those looking to sample some delicious Irish cuisine on the go, stop by Cookes of Dublin. They’ll also have some new additions including the Combo Box with Battered Cod & Shrimp. There’s also the Hog in a Box (Slow Roasted Pork Shoulder), and Bang Bang’s Loaded: Buttermilk fried chicken with a spicy mayo sauce and loaded chips. You can finish off your meal with Cookie’s Cheesecake.
4. Complimentary Face Painting
Irish enthusiasts of all ages will be able to enjoy complimentary face panting. Celtic artistry will help you get into the spirit of the Hooley.
5. Raglan Road Irish Dancers
Lastly, it wouldn’t be a Hooley without Raglan Road’s award-winning dance group who will be on hand to lead guests through a lively ceili. These step dances date back to the time of the Celts and Druids (1500s) and are a main event Irish and Celtic celebrations.
