Singing Legend Tony Bennett Died Friday Morning

Tony Bennett was a living legend of American music and had a singing career that spanned over 70 years.
His amazing voice spanned multiple music genres including jazz, pop, and classical, though he is best known for his signature song, “I Left My Heart in San Francisco.”

Tony Bennett has won 18 Grammy Awards (36 total nominations) and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2002, and a Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient in 2001.
Bennett also received two Emmy Awards and was a Kennedy Center Honoree in 2005 and a National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master in 2006.

He is also known for his caring heart and compassionate philanthropic work. Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease, Bennet raised money for multiple charities and disease research.

Tony Bennett has released over 60 albums and sold over 50 million records worldwide. Though not specific to jazz, this style is where he most flourished.
