Don’t Buy Scalped Oogie Boogie Bash Tickets Warns Disneyland
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog, you’ll know that tickets for Disney’s Oogie Boogie Bash, a special ticketed Halloween party held at Disney’s California Adventure sold out in less than 12 hours. With a huge demand for tickets and many Disneyland enthusiasts unable to get tickets for the annual event, here’s a friendly reminder that tickets are non-transferable.
Disney’s warning comes with a good cause. According to a recent piece in Whittier Daily News, Oogie Boogie Bash tickets are currently selling on sites like Craigslist, eBay, and Stubhub for as much as $750.00. For reference, the original Disney ticket price was between $134 to $189.
For those unfamiliar, Oogie Boogie Bash takes place over 25 select nights in September and October at Disney California Adventure. The tickets originally went on sale for Magic Keyholders (Disneyland’s Annual Pass) on June 27. Two days later they were supposed to go on sale to the general public before demand crashed the ticket website. Sales did not resume until July 11 at which point they sold out in one day.
Ticket holders, quick to capitalize on the demand for tickets purchased tickets in the hopes of making a profit. However, Disney has safeguards in place to prevent this meaning that those purchasing scalped tickets may find themselves out of money and without a valid admission ticket.
According to Disney, Oogie Boogie Bash tickets can not be resold after they are purchased. Each ticket is sold with a warning that they are non-transferable and not for resale. According to the piece in the Whittier Daily News, Disney actively seeks out resellers of party tickets online. Suspected scalped tickets will be voided where appropriate according to Disneyland officials.
For those still thinking about getting scalped tickets for Oogie Boogie Bash or any other Disney-theme park specially ticketed event then you may want to familiarize yourselves with Disney’s official ticket policy. You can find out all of the details here. In summary:
- Tickets may not be sold, bartered, or exchanged for goods, services, or benefits.
- Tickets are non-transferable and must be used by the same person.
