For just a few more weeks, fans can immerse themselves in this amazing art while learning about the super heroes and the inspiration behind the artists.
The exhibit recently moved into the Jack Kirby Legacy Gallery in honor of Women’s History Month, but still features all of the iconic art and artists though April 20th.
Come with us as we tour the exhibit, meet the six featured artists, and learn about each their journeys!
Elena Casagrande

Elena was a comic book artist for over 15 years, but landed her “dram job” early in her career. This talented Italian artist began working on comic book covers while still enrolled in school at the International School of Comics in Rome.
For the Women Marvel exhibition, she created a connecting piece featuring She-Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel and more. The multiple pieces of art connect to create one complete piece of artwork.
The artist shared, “I wanted to do something particular, and I really enjoyed finding the right way to replicate every character with their personal futures, that could be connected…and represented in a single cover.”
Peach Momoko

This Japanese artist has created numerous cover illustrations throughout her career, and the exhibit features two of the artist’s earlier covers of Spider Gwen and Invisible Woman.
Peach pays homage to her early covers and showcases who Spider Gwen and Peach both are by combining various artistic elements in with aspects of Peach’s personality.
She notes that her style and confidence evolved over time as she learned more about the characters.
Natacha Bustos

This talented Spanish artist is best known for her work on Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur and has worked on many Marvel Covers.
She approaches her work in a way that “I always try to think of these characters doing everyday things despite them being Super Heroes and exceptional. You want to see them in their everyday life despite having superpowers!”
Natacha has five pieces displayed in this exhibit.
Jen Bartel

Jen Bartel comes from an illustration background and created her first Marvel cover in 2017. Her displays include a 2021 cover art of She-Hulk and comic book covers featuring Captain Marvel, Shuri Black Panther, Storm and Silk from Spider-Man.
All art work published between 2018 and 2021.
The American artist encourages aspiring artists to feed their creative process by fully participating in life and exposing themselves to new shows, books, and experiences, while also revisiting old favorites.

Five pieces (fully hand painted) are featured in the exhibition featuring Shuri Black Panther, Ms. Marvel, The Mighty Thor, Rogue from X-Men and Clea Doctor Strange. Hans tries to use a limited color palette to create “an image that is able to shout at the reader even in the middle of a row of other comic books!”
Sara Pichelli

Sarah’s first Marvel cover was created in 2008! She credits the Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics, C.B. Cebulski, with discovering her and introducing her into the world of comic-books.
The Italian artist features her cover for the first issue of Ms. Marvel and her cover art of Captain Carter.
The Women of Marvel Exhibition is on display at the Disney Hotel New York — the Art of Marvel at Disneyland Paris. Do not miss this amazing experience and the talented work of these great artists.
