Throwback Orange Bird Souvenir Packs Surprise Sweets
For those well-versed in Disney Parks designs of the 1980s and 1990s, the Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary celebration cultivated an abundance of merchandise-related memories over the past 18 months. Today, we spotted another relic returned with a new Orange Bird souvenir box of mini gummy worms.
During her visit to EPCOT this morning, MickeyBlogger Kristen spotted the always-smiling icon of Sunshine Tree Terrace gracing the lid of a nostalgic plastic sweets container. Inside, a colorful menagerie of ultra-chewy and fruity miniature gummy worms makes for a super sweet snack.
The collectable container will assuredly catch the attention of Orange Bird fans. As the mascot for the Florida Citrus Commission, the Orange Bird first debuted in1971, but he now features as one of the perennial mascots for the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival.
We spotted the collectible container of squiggly sweets at Port of Entry, one of the two main merchandise locations at the front of World Showcase in the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow (EPCOT).
Looking for more Orange Bird? The little cutie features in the festival’s annual sipper. This year’s design not only ties together Orange Bird himself but also a Florida Orange, celebrating his origin story.
Typically available at a booth near Port of Entry, this year’s sipper moved to an indoor location. With an enormous crowd following, the sipper also became available through mobile order this year, making it easier to snag during a trip to this year’s festival.
Just pop into The Citrus Blossom at The Odyssey building to grab the sipper. It comes either filled with a delicious orange and citrus smoothie or empty for those just looking to add the joyful bird to an already-established sipper collection.
